I keep telling my boss that I'm going to go all Fiona Glenanne on the thing and strap some C4 to the bottom of it.

My question is this: why do I get more phone calls between 11:45 AM and 1:15 PM then I do before or after? URGH.

We have a big sign on the front door that says we are closed from 12 to 1 and EVERY DAY someone comes in at lunch.

People are... people.

Good lord, that would make me crazy. I wish I could shut the phone off just long enough to eat.

And now I'm singing that old song... people are people so why should it be, you and I get along so awfully? *snort* Yeah, I'm showing my age.

I know that song!

I just hung up the phone with one of my regular customers and turned to my boss "I hate him. I want to stab him. I don't want him dead, just in perpetual pain!" And then I thought that I say things like that a lot. :(

It's a big joke around here because I yell at the phone while it's ringing. "STOP IT!" or "SHUT UP!" They laugh at my mental illness.

We allllll have those customers! *hugs*

One of my bosses reads the caller ID to me. Takes the time to look at the phone, but can't be assed to answer it.

*hugs* back at you

That sounds like here. UGH. Something about guys that makes them incapable of answering a phone.

I just made a bet with my boss that if he answered the phone for a whole day, I would stay and work until all things were done. He says he's thinking about it. He doesn't even make his own phone calls. It'll be interesting. ;)

Hah! I see you getting an early out that day. :) They get into their little habits and it becomes hard for them to break out of them. We deal with a contractor, and he's an older gentleman so I do understand, but I get these calls from his secretary saying, "Please hold for Mr. So-and-So."

People make fun of him for it, and he's a year younger than me. But it is funny to hear him come up with reasons that I had to dial the phone.

I don't see it happening, and there is a HUGE project that I haven't touched because I can't handle job costing during plow season. But it would be very nice to dedicate myself to dealing with the things that need to be done and not phone calls and the productions they create.

I love it! But he could be having you do a lot worse than dialing the phone, so I'd take it. :)

Yikes - yes, I can understand that. Before Jeff had his accident, he'd send me home early some nights because he had so much to do and he could get more done without me around answering the phone. His brother that's taken over for him can't let the phone ring so he always answers it after I've gone. LOL
