Fill: Original fic Jimmy Bogart/Desmond Richard
"What is this complete disaster, Bogart?" Desmond asked as he took in the destruction of his carefully organized studio.

"I have a system, therefore it is not a complete disaster," Jimmy protested as he moved a pile of used music sheets to an empty spot next to him on the piano bench.

"I don't want to know. Just put it back the way it was before you leave," Desmond requested before walking away.

"Whatever, neat freak," Jimmy mumbled before getting lost in his music again.

Desmond returned hours later to dig Jimmy out of the studio and was surprised to find that it wasn't the complete wreck it had been earlier. He found Jimmy softly snoring in the corner in the battered arm chair that they had put there months before.

Desmond woke him with a kiss and lead him to bed for an afternoon nap.

Jimmy curled into Desmond's side with a softly whispered, "I love you."

Desmond dropped a kiss on Jimmy's cheek and returned the sentiment.

Ryan ran his fingers through his hair. This season wasn’t what he thought it was going to be. When he came here, he thought, Great, new start, new team. But at this point, here in mid-December, it felt like he should have been back in Buffalo. Was it him? Was he a cancer in the locker room like everybody had said he was? He did his best, tried to help, and here he was again. This season wasn’t a complete disaster, but it was coming close.

He took a deep breath. One day at a time, one game at a time, one period at a time, one shift at a time. That was his mantra. He just had to be the best that he could be and take advantage of the opportunity. Things would either shift or they wouldn’t. He could always request a trade.

At least, the score was tied. There was still hope, but, the room felt tight, like it was bracing for the inevitable. Someone had to pull them out of it. This funk had gone on long enough. Back-to-back wins could actually happen.

“We’re going to win this game,” he said, his voice echoing in the quiet of the room. He didn’t say anything else, didn’t say how, didn’t say who was going to do it. Hell, he’d do it himself if he had to. The mantra had to change. One game at a time, starting with this one. They were going to win it.
