Fill The Mentalist, Cho/Vega
“Is that the same suit you wore yesterday?”

Cho’s hand froze halfway to the coffee pot and he abandoned any hope of filling his cup for the next few minutes. He knew well what that Jane tone of voice meant, knew that this wasn’t going to be the only question and he definitely knew that this had the potential to end badly.

Man, he’d missed having Jane around.

Actually, he hadn’t.

Hoping that Lisbon and her five months pregnant self made it back from the restroom in time for her and Jane to go out for lunch as planned, Cho turned and crossed his arms over his chest. “Yes. Why do you ask?”

“No reason.” Except it was Jane. There was always a reason. “Just it looks a little rumpled is all. Not quite as sharp pressed as always.” Cho was tempted to look down but knew that to do so would show weakness. That went double when Jane continued, “And your shirt has definite creases, like it’s been folded up. Almost like it’s the one from your go bag in the trunk of your car.”

Don’t look down, Cho told himself as Jane walked closer. Do not.

“Then of course...” Jane leaned in and actually sniffed. “There’s the faint but undeniable notes of a different shower gel than the one you normally use. One that manages to be different and yet...” He paused, like he was thinking of the word. Cho didn’t buy it for a second - Jane always knew exactly what he was going to say, knew it before he started speaking. The pause was a showman’s trick, used for effect. So when he apparently settled on “Familiar,” Cho was ready and he didn’t flinch.

When he didn’t respond, Jane’s smile turned ever so slightly more wicked. “Then of course, there’s this.” He reached out to Cho’s shoulder and it took everything in Cho not to pull away. But when Jane lifted his hand, there was a long, dark hair dangling between his thumb and forefinger. “I don’t think this is yours.”

Cho met his eyes but even though he was looking at him, he wasn’t seeing Jane. He was back at the front door of Michelle’s house that morning, his fingers running through her hair as he kissed her thoroughly, feeling her arms around his waist and her head on his shoulder as she’d hugged him goodbye before he’d left for work. He’d meant to go back to his place first but they’d lost track of time once the alarm went off and had told themselves that his go bag would spare their blushes.

Of course, it had been the one day that Jane took a break from house building to bring Lisbon out to lunch.

Jane held his gaze, serious for a long moment, then he broke out in a smile, clapped Cho on the shoulder. “Tell Vega I said hello,” he said. “Now, where is my wife?”

He left then and Cho found himself chuckling as he shook his head and turned back to the coffee pot. After all, he hadn’t had a lot of sleep last night so he needed all the caffeine he could get.

Fill: Original fic Jimmy Bogart/Desmond Richard
Jimmy was rumaging through their closet looking for a shirt he hadn't worn in several months when he stumbled upon a light weight, silvery grey suit paired with a light lilac dress shirt. He knew it wasn't his since he tended to wear black when he was forced to be a responsible adult.

He walked out of the closet with it and laid it on their bed. It was very nice and he would bet a year's wages that Desmond looked incredible in it.

"Hey, Des," he hollered into the bathroom. "Could you come here for a sec?"

"What's up?" Desmond stuck his head out of the bathroom and inquired.

"When did you get this?" Jimmy asked holding up the suit.

"Before we started dating," Desmond replied as he wiped shaving cream from his face. "Why do you ask?"

"I just stumbled acrossed it and was surprised is all," Jimmy stumbled over the explaination.

"We are going to a fancy restaurant for dinner. Would you like me to wear it?" Desmond offered knowing from the way Jimmy was studying his toes that he wanted that, but wouldn't ask.

Jimmy nodded.

"I will, but you have to wear something just as nice," Desmond stipulated as he walked into the room tossing the towel he had been using behind him.

"I really don't have anything that nice or doesn't make me look like a funeral director," Jimmy admitted wanting to look nice for their date.

"I think we can find something," Desmond said walking over to the closet and started his search.

Desmond managed to find one of his older suits that didn't fit him anymore. It was a charcoal gray and he paired it with a light blue dress shirt which made Jimmy's hazel eyes pop.

They turned heads when they entered their favorite restaurant for their weekly date.

“Mom?” Tevan asked as she left the triplets room and began to stride down the hall. He could tell she had something on her mind, that there was a purpose to her steps, and that she had been startled when she awoke. Thankfully, that had not been enough to wake the children.

“I’m fine, Tev. Gonna drive to the beach for a bit…get some air.” If they were at Tigh Ard, a beach walk would have been easy, and was something she often did when troubled. This house did not allow for such walks and no one in the family would be surprised about her wanting to go there.

Only surprised that she would go out again so soon when she had avoided leaving this house for so long. Only concerned about the late hour.

Thankfully none of them knew about what had happened last night. Not unless Conal or Lucas had spoken of it.

“Want me to go with you? I don’t mind…”

“No, hun…I’m okay. Why do you ask?” She glanced down at herself and brought her hands to her face, wondering suddenly if she looked ‘off’ somehow. “Do I look…?”

“You look fine, mom…it’s just…you haven’t been out much recently…and suddenly…”

She hugged him, appreciating his concern. “John dragging me out of the house was apparently just what I needed to break the funk. I’m fine. I just want some beach time. You and Grace go watch your movie. I won’t be gone long.” She had heard the couple talking about watching a movie together earlier…plus she didn’t need a babysitter…it was just a drive to the beach. Nothing earth shattering about that.

“Okay…but you call me…if you need anything…” With Conal’s ‘issues’ lately, Tevan had taken on an air of ‘man of the house’. She did not want any of her children to feel that was a burden, a role, they needed to take, so it was time for her to step up and get her shit together.
