Monday, Monday

OMG, it's been a day and a half. Nothing serious, just time-consuming. Work was a day of repetition, as I kept hitting all the wrong keys and buttons; then I had grocery shopping to do after work; then a Photoshop project for work, which unfortunately had to be done at home; and finally I had to decide rapidly on September's challenge for the comm, as Bingo is not able to be organised in time (due to my slackness, as I forgot I needed to get onto things a bit quicker), so here I am rapidly doing this before bedtime so it'll be up for Monday morning for most of you!

I am not on the ball with either last week's challenges or the Sept Big Buddy, but suffice to say if you missed anything, check out the regular challenge tags for the last bunch of challenges, and since it's only Day One of Sept, assume you need about 3% of your monthly total by now!

Last month's challenge was August Rush, and we had some great entries! Congrats to all who participated - you are all wonderful! I'll be making banners for those who played, so expect them soon, if I can get myself organised!

This month, I have decided we're going for a whole month of COMMENT FIC, since I haven't put up any prompts under that challenge since 2017! Watch out for the first prompt post with some basic rules shortly.

I won't bother with a flash fic prompt as the comment fic prompt coming up should cover that. And, with that, I'll get onto it now, so all that remains is for me to ask how you're planning to be awesome this week! Tell me in the comments!

Oh, and you have an extra day or two to get your counts updated, as I won't be able to add everything up until tomorrow or Wednesday. ;-)

Ugh! I hate those days that seem to be a slog, doing the same things or answering the same questions over and over again. I appreciate what you've done to get the challenges ready and everything up and running for September.

Today, I'm taking my mom on a road trip. We're going first to Chicago (first stop- The American Writers Museum) and then up to see some of Wisconsin. The weather looks to be pretty good while we're there. But the best thing is that it's 8 days that I don't have to go into the office. The downside is that I won't have my computer while I'm there, so writing won't begin in earnest until sometime on the 10th.

Wishing you a great, fun, and productive week ahead!

Have a good and safe trip.

Color me jealous! Despite being born in Illinois, I've never been to Chicago! Have a safe trip and enjoy the time with your mom.

Yes, I'm so very with you there! Thanks; it was a rush, but I got there!

YAY! I love road trips! Sounds like a fun one too, so enjoy! Don't worry about computers for 8 days, and then write when you can after you're back! ;-)

I feel you on the same old same old. There are days when I can't be arsed to care about anything work related.

Hopefully, I can get some words in today since I kinda fried the Muse the other night.

If you need prompts for this month's challenge, let me know.

I feel you on the work thing. :/ Hoping the words get easier!

OMG! I should know what I'm doing by now, but talk about hitting everything wrong and having to do-over almost EVERYTHING. Perhaps today I should concentrate!

I hope the muse is recovered and you can get some words in today!

Thanks - I need about another 10, so if you have any floating about, PM or email me!

starting NaNo prep...beginning the brainstorming of the facts and notes and details I have to fit together from the first 2 books to organize in the third.
I've got all of these players...and no idea what to do with them yet. Good thing I'm starting now!

Good luck getting it all organized!
Sep. 2nd, 2019 09:16 pm (UTC)
Wow! You always amaze me with your ability to pull it all together and I'm sure this will be no exception! Good luck with everything!

Do you still want to run something Nano-related in Nov for the comm?
Sep. 2nd, 2019 09:46 pm (UTC)
Can either do November...or October with planning if that works in the year's schedule too

I think we're going to do another Bingo next month, so if you could do something for November, that would be awesome, but if you want to post something about Nano prepping next month (one or two posts rather than anything major, perhaps?) that would be good. I leave it up to you!

I might run another small thing along with the Nano thing in Nov too, for anyone not joining in with Nano.

I was so sure I'd get every day of August Rush done! Started great, then flopped. LOL Oh well, I did what I could and got quite a bit of words out of it, so it's good.

Ah, I love comment fics! Can't wait for the first prompt either.

I'm off today and need to get up and get on the bike before everyone wakes up but... Happy Monday everyone!

You did extremely well! I'm still making you a participation banner, so it's all good! How many words did you make in the end?

YAY! I hope you get some good words from this month's challenge!

YAY, biking! Hope your Monday's been fantastic so far, and that the rest of the week goes as swimmingly! ;-)

Thanks! I feel like a flop, but something is always better than nothing. I had to go look and I managed a little over 3,600 words so better than I thought. I would have estimated half that.

Thanks! I've managed two prompts so far and got some good numbers out of it, so that's already a bonus.

Had a good Monday, especially since it was a holiday and I didn't have to work. LOL
