Monday, Monday... Tuesday, anyone?

OK, so it's not exactly Monday here, but I'm hoping to just catch Monday on the other side of the world! Yup, I had a bit of a brain-fart yesterday and didn't get the post up, though I knew it was my turn.

And then to kick off my Tuesday morning today at work, one of my monitors (I have two) decided to play dead, and it took me half an hour to sort that out and get something working. One bang behind the ear from crawling under a desk to change cords, and one monitor now working fine on another desk (though it sure wasn't playing nice on mine) and another monitor and cord plugged in and reorganised to work how I want it, and I'm finally good to go. Needless to say, no actual work done yet; we won't mention the time. ;-P

However, the rest of this week is set to go well, or at least I'm remaining positive! Last weekend I managed to catch up to where I should be on my yearly goal for words, so I am determined to keep on top from here on in!

I have Friday off this week because my middle child is off to Borneo for two weeks! YES! So exciting - she's never left NZ and her first port of call is Borneo! She's doing an animal management course at university, and as part of her studies some of them (who have worked hard to earn the money!) are going to visit some orangutan and sun-bear sanctuaries over there. Should be a fantastic trip!

Anyway, 'Mummy' has to have time off on Friday to go with her to the dog kennels where she works to settle her pup in while she's gone (and for me to meet the owners). To save more time and energy for the long-suffering parents who will already be taking care of the two rabbits and five guinea-pigs (in addition to our two cats) while she's gone, Remmy the Golden Retriever is going to have a holiday at the kennels. We'll go to take him out for a walk a few times while she's gone, but it's easier knowing he'll be kept company and can be happy during the days while we're working. As that won't take all day, it will give me some time on Friday afternoon at home to do some stuff for ME (like writing!) before we have to deliver said daughter to the airport!

But enough about me! How are you guys going to make your week fabulous?

Here are the reminders and other things you need to help kick you off for the week:

I think I'm at about 21 hrs (or 21k, take your pick) so I'm fine so far...however, with the computer disconnect pending any time now...and home repair looming, I don't expect it to stay that way.
I've toyed with signing up for the monthly challenge...but I know I have too much going on this month to make it feasible

That is fantastic! And it's wise to know your limits, so I fully understand you not taking on this month's challenge! Good luck with everything! ;-)

I'm just shy of 4k so I am staying close. I knew my goal this month would be very ambitious for me, but it doesn't hurt to stretch does it?

YIKES! I didn't even realize a Monday post hadn't been made, sorry about that! I try to cover when I can.

That's awesome for your daughter, I know my younger one would love it!

Let's see - I'm a little less than 500 words shy on where I should be but that should be easy enough to catch up on. This week is going to be stressful, but worth it, so let's see what I can manage because no matter what - next week has to be awesome. :D

No worries; I knew it was me and should have found time yesterday, but somehow it all got away on me!

Yeah, she is going to have a ball, and come home with some great memories (and hopefully photos, but no diseases! She's had a bunch of shots, but not rabies - too expensive - so here's hoping she doesn't catch anything she shouldn't!)

You are gonna do great, I feel it in my bones, and you are going to have a FANTASTIC week next week, whether you make words or not *sending all the good vibes*. ;-)

I know that feeling!

Wow, I wonder why the rabies vaccine was so expensive? I can't say I've ever had cause to get one so maybe they are here, too. I've got my fingers crossed for her!

Aw, thanks! I know it'll be fine but I'm going to be a mess until Monday evening. LOL <3

I hate when technological issues raise their ugly heads. Things should work how they should work. That said, I did manage to fix the family DVD player tonight - there was a disc that got jammed in it, so I grabbed a screwdriver and took the top off of it. I must have nudged something back into position because it started working normally. It went down about a month ago, but I just haven't taken the time to take it out of the cabinet and mess around with it. It took more time to figure out how to reconnect it properly than it did to solve the actual problem.

Congrats on catching up to where you should be for your yearly goal. I have a feeling I might be sweating things out come December. I'm a little double over where I should be for April, but that's mainly because I picked a smaller than usual goal this month due to the NHL playoffs starting this week. I will be glued to my television/phone/other personal viewing device from now until the middle of June, but this month there are usually 3-5 games a night and that does cut into the writing time.

Have a great week and happy writing!

I know! So frustrating! Congrats on getting the DVD player working!

Thanks. Glad to hear you're doing well with your count too, even if it's a reduced number due to sport-watching commitments! I'm not sporting at all, but I understand the need to keep up with your favourite things! Good luck to you and your team!

Thanks - no words yet since last Monday, but hopefully I'll squeeze in some time this week.

Wow, that's a lot going on! You did well to make a post, and it was definitely in plenty of time for Monday in many a place.

And double-wow+ for Boreno - orangutans and sun bears! That is sooooo cool - I hope she has an amazing time. Is she studying veterinary medicine or is the animal management part of some other curriculum? I'm thinking you've said so before and I've forgotten. What an adventure.

Right now for me it's all work, eat, sleep, run, pack, to-do list, work, eat, knit, sleep. :} That's okay - both the foot race and the move will be done soon, and then I hope I'll find a few more words and get beyond just picking and poking at a WIP. Fingers crossed.

It does feel like I'm constantly chasing my tail these days, but I;ll get there!

Borneo should be fantastic. Already the group has posted pics, and it looks amazing! No, not veterinary - she originally wanted to be a zookeeper, but at this point as it's so hard to get into, she just wants a job working with animals - she works weekends at a dog kennels and thinks she might do that full-time for a while after she graduates at the end of this year, and then she'll think about where else she wants to go with it.

You have also been busy! The run looked successful, and I hope the move is too!

Oh crap. I'm supposed to be at 3,000 words?!

As luck would have it, I'm at 2,672. That's pretty close.

I'm a little behind. My get up and go has deserted me once again.

I'll pick up words on Tuesday once I get done running errands.
