Back to the Grind... again!

Happy almost Valentine’s Day!  Man, February is rolling right along, isn’t it?  I got some really good news this past week, so that makes this week even better.  Makes me hopeful that things in these parts might actually be moving in the right direction for once.

How did last week treat you?  Good, I hope.  And, if you’re one of the ones stuck in freezing cold, I hope that you are warm and toasty as you read this.  I’m willing to send sunshine to those who need it.  We have an overabundance here in the desert.

Reminders:

1. Flash Challenge!  Your flash challenge prompt is: gingerbread.  Give me 100 words or a graphic and I’ll reward you with my undying love and admiration.

2. Last week’s challenges:

3. Big Buddy 39%!  How are you doing?  I’m a bit behind, but it’s not anything I can’t make up, so I’m not sweating it.  Especially since this is a bingo month.

Signups for February are here!  Let me know if I missed anyone or miscalculated.  There’s a reason why I’m part of a writing community and not a math community.  HAH.

4. The Daily Count challenge is here , in case you need to check when you’re up next.

5. Haldoor has a rewards post for the January WIP Push here.  If you participated, go comment and let her know how you did.

6. February’s challenge is BIIIIINGO!  Yeah, yeah, I’m excited but, if you know me, you know that I’m a sucker for a bingo card.  I love the challenge of taking a handful of prompts and trying to fit them all into one cohesive story.  Rules are here and the cards are HERE.

That’s about all I have to say today.  What’s your week look like?  How awesome are you planning to be?

Yees! I'm at 2800 words!

For what I'm working on, I'm behind overall. But so happy that I'm ahead of the game percentage-wise

Awesome!

Yes - being ahead in one area can definitely help push you to catch up in others.

Gingerbread, huh?

I'm ahead of the game word wise. Thanks to the boys.

Hah, well, you can see where my brain was at yesterday when I put this together. :D

That's awesome! I'm closer than I was when I wrote this yesterday, but am still about 800 words behind. I'll get there though.

Not sure about how the week will shape up...got a sick puppy (not the same one that had surgery)...and the work week is never the best for creativity.
But...I had a HUGE writing/editing day Sunday. Put in 6 hrs of editing time and got 5050 words on top of that, so it pushed my count through the week if I need it too.
Now I'm struggling with a name for the series...and it's driving me nuts. And I can't say 'trilogy' when it may be 4 books instead of three...so I'm feeling stuck.
Oh...and my phone is dying...come on tax return.

Oh no, I hope the pup is okay!

SCORE! Nice work on the editing and writing as well. I'm always stuck for names - titles, characters, series, you name it (hah). ROFL - don't let that stop you. You can always change it later once you get it all figured out.

I am not where I should be for word count, but I am better than last month so I’ll take it and I do have a personal story to write out so hopefully words will increase today!

I had a complete brain dead weekend, no words, very little knitting. I didn’t even get out of my pjs. It wasn’t good. But I’m hoping for better things this week. I did go up a level at duolingo. WOOHOO!

Progress is progress! And good luck getting the personal story down. Those can be tough sometimes.

Sometimes, that's exactly what we need - a day or two of nothing! I saw that, you're really crushing it. Pushing me to do more than my usual two lessons a day! LOL

Definitely behind where I should be. I blame work craziness for the fact that I've been creatively brain dead. Here's hoping this week shapes up and I can get back on track.

It's all good, it's still early in the month! And your icon is killing me. Kind of how I feel about life at the moment.

I see raindrops on the windowpane, so I wouldn't mind a little of that desert sunshine right now. I'm home today, getting to take my mom to the doctor. It's not my first choice but it beats the heck out of being in a billing meeting. Plus I can write while I'm waiting for her.

I had a not great week as far as production went last week. I got into a funk on Tuesday and couldn't shake it so I was only able to write a couple of things. Right now I'm behind on things I want to write, I have 14 prompts (not including Bingo) that need to have fics attached. When I finish, it'll amount to at least 2000 words, so that's a good thing, but I hate being so far behind. I am keeping pace with my word count and am at a little over 2000 words for the month.

That's it for me. Happy writing!

It's funny - I typed this up early yesterday morning and by 5 PM it was pouring down rain here, too! So far, it's been sunny and cool, so I'll be happy to share the sunshine! Ugh, yeah, definitely not any fun, but you have to take care of mom.

Hopefully you can find your mojo soon! And I hear you on being behind - I have an entire notebook full of prompts I've been carrying around. *sigh* Good luck getting caught up!

I am not where I want to be for words this month, but there's time. I read through a ficlet on my laptop last night and found it's at least half-way written, so...I think I'll try to make progress on it tonight. Longer WIP is, sadly, still shut behind some kind of "Do Not Enter" barricade my muse keeps throwing up in front of me. Sigh. But there are bingo cards! I will definitely take on a couple of those this week.

There has also been knitting, and I ran four miles yesterday as I begin to ramp up training for another half marathon, so... I feel good about that.

And wow, yes - February is wearing roller skates! Which is fine by me. Don't let the door hit it on the backside on the way out, lol.....

Hooray for the ficlet! Let the WIP sit, sometimes, it's all we can do. I had one sit for about five years once before inspiration struck and I finally finished it.

Awesome, you've been really productive, even if you haven't been writing. That's all that matters.

Hah! I'd feel the same way but... next week my older girl is turning 19 and I'm not sure I'm ready for that yet. :)

WAY behind where I should be. Still dealing with waves of illness and frustration.

Where do we post these challenge responses?

Ugh, there is something going around again, I think. Had to go get my daughter from school today because she got sick after second period. Hope you start to feel better soon.

Wherever. You can post in a comment here, make a new post to the comm, post in your journal/AO3/FF.net/Wattpad/whatever and link here. It's up to you. :)

And as usual it's Wednesday already for me before I get here.

I was blanking at that 39% total for me as I worked out I was nicely above target for the month (as of 5 mins ago, HA!), and wondered how I'd miscalculated so badly, but looking back at the original post for Big Buddy I see I did put 2800 for my monthly total but it's been added into the main post at 5000 (person next to me had that, so an easy mistake). Anyhoo, no big deal. I'm on 1408, which is ahead of the 1288 I should be on as at today, 46% in! That makes me happy.

And it's plenty hot and tinder-dry here at the moment, so I too have a lot of sunshine to spare for those of you who are still cold out there!

And I must get on to the WIP rewards! I'll call that my goal for this week and we'll see how I do! ;-)

Eh, it's all good. Sometimes the week just gets away from us.

Sorry about that - I copied and pasted and computed off the list left on the initial Big Buddy post for this month. As long as YOU know where you are, right? And congrats on being ahead of the game.

Hah, sounds about like how it's going to be here in a few weeks. But man, our east coast and midwest areas have been getting pounded hard this year. A friend of mine in Wisconsin said she got 14.3 inches. No thanks!

Hah - works for me. You can do it!
