Weekend Challenge: Line from a Book

I know I'm a little late kicking off this weekend's challenge, but I made it, and that's what counts. Some of you may have noticed we didn't have one last week, so let's make sure that doesn't happen again this year!

The weekend challenges will run the same way as last year, as this seemed quite popular. This, for those who don't know, means the post goes up some time on Friday in your local time - as long as it's up by midnight Friday PST, it's all good - and you have until the following Thursday to fulfil your prompt and link it back to the original post in order to receive whatever reward the host is offering.  By all means take longer if the prompt speaks to you in a way that gets you a 50K word novel - we're all for that! - but your reward will be forfeit, unless the host feels able to oblige.   Fair enough, right? The host sets the rules, and YOU can create whatever you like, or skip it if you can't find time or even if the prompt doesn't work for you. No censure, no blame.

This week, I'm going with an old favourite: I am currently reading Book 2 of The Expanse series of sci-fi novels by James S. A. Corey, 'Caliban's War'. Give me a page number between 1 and 595, and let me know if you want TOP, MIDDLE or BOTTOM of the page, and I'll find you a line or sentence or phrase from that position on the page that I think  is a good prompt.

What you do with it is up to you! Any fandom (or none), any character/s, and any kind of creation (does not have to be in the original genre, either).  Write over 200 words or make more than 2 icons/1 banner and I will reward you with 100 words in the current WIP I'm working on, a drabble of your choice from my list of fandoms, or an icon of any kind that you choose.

Now, hit me with those page numbers!!!

LOL. There's something about 'bottom', isn't there?

And that meant they knew something was up.

Good luck!

Sounds kind of awesome!

May I ask for two sentences:
a line from the middle of page 13
a line from the bottom of page 333

Thanks :)

Sure! You get:

13: Something itched at the back of her brain.

333: "Aren't we finished with that shit yet?"

Feel free to change the gender if needed. Good luck!

Certainly!

Like an animal in the ancient grasslands of Earth, he had the primal urge to be still and silent.

Feel free to change the gender, and if you need to leave out the 'Earth' bit if your fic is set on the planet, then that's fine too!
