Wonderful World of Wednesday

Sorry I am late.

Be sure to turn in your numbers

"Strange, isn't it? Each man's life touches so many other lives. When he isn't around he leaves an awful hole, doesn't he?"

~ Clarence - It's a Wonderful Life ~

As pretty as these lights are, there is always the odd one out. After all you should NEVER use lights on a Palm Tree! (Link to NSFW Image!)

**Warning** Rapid Flashing Lights

Beautiful, but I would not wish to be their neighbors, nor pay their light bill!

Did you know?

According to legend, there was once a widowed father who was so poor, he feared his daughters could never marry and would have to resort to prostitution to get by. Wanting to help, St. Nicholas slid down their chimney one night, saw the girls’ laundered stockings hanging by the fire, and filled them with gold. This act of charity saved the girls from becoming hookers, and that’s why we hang stockings at Christmas

I love that quote. Earlier this week, I watched "Won't You Be My Neighbor" - a documentary on Mr. Rogers. And that quote totally fits him perfectly.

ROFL @ the palm tree. People here put lights on theirs, but I've never seen one looking quite like that pic. :)

Same here. I watched him pretty much every day. It was an excellent documentary though.

Hahaha... yeah, the one you chose was well worth it. :D

Excellent quote, and love the lights. Will check out the vid and NSFW soon!  That interesting fact is a good one too.

another snippet about people leaving a hole in the lives of others...
won't make much sense outside of the RP setting...but here it is:
*
A call to Curt brought her First, the one man who had been beside her at this family’s center of power almost longer than anyone else, to her side in the empty music room. Their bonding was as much spiritual as physical, the repair of so much strain the House tapestry of power had sustained, the drawing together of threads that had come near to breaking as Carl’s focus seemed to have shifted away from House and more onto himself.

Carl did not seem like himself to Curt either, but no one had been willing to confront him head on and demand he seek help. He had made it pretty clear that he held less respect for the opinions of his family then he once had and as he had already expelled two members from the family for their ‘disobedience’ no one else was eager to push back.

Believing he had to keep the House together as best he could during Tamara’s absence, Curt had stayed and done everything he could to keep the peace.

Her absences had left a gaping hole in the lives of so many, a hemorrhaging orifice that Curt hoped she would now be able to heal just by being home.

Odd, she mused, as she reassured Curt that no one was expelled from the House, that both Devran and Matthew were welcome here and that she would force Carl’s hand on the matter if she needed to, that she should be the one to hold everything together when it should be her and Carl together.

Instead, it was her…and her Firsts…and she would bind each of those to her, make them all welcome again.

She needed her third First, after all, as much as she needed the other two.
