Say What Friday

Good morning all....

I hope everyone has had a good week.

For those in retail, it is 18 days until Christmas. 😊

Today is the 77th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor, and in honor of that I give you this week's quote.

"There is nothing to fear, but fear itself." FDR

Do with it what you will.

played a little bit with fear...with my collection of RP angels; excerpt of a longer bit:

“I do not think there is anything more we can do,” murmured Azazael behind and to the side of Gabriel, where he had stood for the last several minutes, watching both without speaking.

“There must be something,” Gabriel muttered stubbornly. “If we can’t help our own…”

“Is he though? Is he one of our own?” It was not a malicious or negative question, only a reminder of the obvious. Azazael and Xas were fallen, their various forms of disobedience condemning them to an eternity locked outside of heaven. Gabriel, while still angelic, had been sent too…locked out…by the virtue of some mission he had been sent to perform that condemned him to a measure of mortality for a time. Conrael, however, was an enigma that none of them understood.

Gabriel frowned. “Of course he is.” Fallen or not, Gabriel saw them all the same, all as family, all as worthy and eligible for salvation, albeit some with much more difficult, longer paths to follow to achieve it. He had been sent to guide them, though in this place he often felt that he was failing more than succeeding.

Shrugging, Azazael continued to stare at Conrael. “You could save him…perhaps…” They each had their strengths, their gifts. Gabriel’s could, perhaps, heal whatever might have been damaged within Conrael.

At a price.

Both knew it. Both also knew that, for now at least, they did not know if it was a price Conrael needed to have paid to be saved.

“No.” Why pay a price if it was not needed? Why pay it for one who still frightened and confused him, even though Gabriel accepted him as one of them? Why pay for something that might only damn them both?

“Then we wait.” Azazael was fine with that course…for now. Fear was unproductive. Fear was a restriction that bred more fear, and he would not give into it. Not now, not ever. Let Xas be fearful for their future. Let Gabriel fear for his own soul. Unlike Gabriel, Azazael had nothing to fear. He was already damned. What more could he lose? He was determined to find some other way. He would not wait indefinitely. This was not going to be the end of their relationship. He was going to save Conrael from himself, even if Azazael had to further damn himself to do it.
