I'll keep Say What Fridays going, and I may be interested in a weekend challenge here or there.
Nov. 28th, 2018 12:03 am (UTC)
Wonderful! THANK YOU!

OMG, I read that not too long ago. My kids LIVED for Spongebob. They've moved on to Bob's Burgers, but there are still so many SPSP references thrown around in our house. Really. Really, really. ;)

I love all the challenges, I'm such a dork. Hah. And you know I'm here for whatever you might need.
Nov. 28th, 2018 12:04 am (UTC)
I know; it's so sad as he was only 57. My son still quotes Spongebob at every opportunity, though he's watching other things more now, and the rest of us are pretty well-versed as well (though my son wins the quotes knowledge!)

If everyone is still interested in the word of the day I can continue doing that. Same goes for creating a calendar for the Daily Count Challenge and reminder posts

I don't know how December is shaping up but back in 2015 we had a Year End Challenge that I thought was kind of fun.

Yes please to everything - I love reading all the words and their meanings, even if I don't always manage to do anything with them! And the DCC stuff has been great so please keep doing that! ;-) THANK YOU!

K has set up a 100-in-100 for the last 100 hours of the year which is similar to that year end one, except it doesn't have a prompt. She's already scheduled the entries, so I think we'll just go with that, but if you want to throw in a prompt on those entries as they post, feel free! Same goes for anyone else who wants to join in!

I may be able to help with a weekend challenge or word wars next year. Participating in this community has been a great experience this year. Thanks to you and to everyone who keeps things going.
Nov. 28th, 2018 12:54 am (UTC)
Wonderful! Good to hear and THANK YOU! ;-)
Nov. 28th, 2018 04:50 am (UTC)
I'm definitely in - though I might not be able to do monthly challenges until after April. I can do weekend challenges at the same rate as this year! I wouldn't mind offering something new (if I can think of something new, lol).
Nov. 28th, 2018 09:01 am (UTC)
That's awesome - THANK YOU! We'll definitely be calling on you to take on a challenge (or two!) somewhere along the line, and if you can come up with something new, that would be fantastic too! Will definitely keep you informed as we go!

I loved this comm...then I sort of hit a massive writers block so I didn't sign up this year. Thankfully I got my mojo back--and then some--part way through the year, so I would definitely participate next year.

My favorite challenges when I was here were the daily count challenge and the ones like 100 in 100 or whatever it was. Things that helped keep me motivated to write regularly and push through any blocks or laziness.

I would be willing to help with something like the 100 in 100 challenge if you wanted to bring it back.

I'm sorry about the writer's block (I certainly know how that feels as I haven't written much of anything for MONTHS now), but glad to hear you got your mojo back! We'd be happy to have you at any time, even now if you want to help us reach this year's aim of 7 million words! There's lots going on right now, so please do sign up (Advent, hint, hint!) or just use any of the on-going prompts or weekly stuff to inspire your words!

The daily count challenge continues, so you can certainly join in with that!

Thank you! We may take you up on that! Keep following; we'll make sure you're included nonetheless!

I feel so bad because I am bowed out of like everything the last 2 years. I haven't even put fingers to keyboard to create ANYTHING. I am glad you are all still here and I hope to come back in 2019
Nov. 29th, 2018 08:41 pm (UTC)
Don't feel bad for us, but I know what you mean! We'd love to have you back, so join in anytime, even now if you want to help us reach our goal of 7 million words this year. There are lots of challenges and prompts ongoing! But next year is good too! ;-)

I know I haven't done anything yet here, but I really want to try to get out of my LurkCave. I absolutely LOVE what you all have come up with and will definitely cheer you all on for new stuff.

Before I even knew of this group I've dabbled in some exact 100 words photoprompts on Goodreads with the M/M Group Flash Fiction but that was in 2014. Think I've joined you guys around September/October this year, so I've kept up with some entries.

I have also been jobless since May 31st this year, and may or may not get a new job but still not 100% sure if I will get it...

Haven't really *really* actively taken a challenge word and thought 'what can I create in 100 words?' but I will definitely try to do it more often and not be afraid of posting it here.

I do have my fanfics but mostly only 2 dear friends of mine read and comment on it, so I wouldn't call myself a great writer who gets lots of comments.

We don't mind if you only lurk, but we'd love to have you join in more! It's a friendly place and we encourage positivity, so please do if you feel able.

If you've dabbled and you want more practice, this is the perfect place - it's a small community, but a very passionate one in terms of creating!

Sorry to hear you've been out of work, and I wish you all the best for getting that job *crosses fingers*

Don't be afraid - we all have to start somewhere, and we don't mind if you're not perfect; who is? HA! We're happy to provide friendly and constructive concrit if you want, help with ideas, or just leave you to do your thang; how involved you are and/or want us to be is totally up to you! ;-)

The past year has been sucking. I'm hoping to change things around again.
Nov. 29th, 2018 08:48 pm (UTC)
I'm sorry to hear the year has been sucking, but GO YOU to changing things around. Do join us if you can! ;-)
Nov. 29th, 2018 09:16 pm (UTC)
Wow. It's been a long time since I have been here or in Livejournal anywhere. So many communities have stopped posting. It makes me sad. I miss the world of Livejournal and the people. I am so happy that you guys are still here. I am hoping to join in. You guys have so many amazing challenges. Miss that feel of an online community. Thanks for sending out that email.
Nov. 29th, 2018 09:42 pm (UTC)
Hi there! i'm with you there - I still post, but so many people and communities are gone now, which is just sad. BUT, you're right, we're still here, and we hope to continue as long as people are interested! We're happy to have you - join in anytime, as I told others above, and I'm so glad the email brought you back here! ;-)
Nov. 29th, 2018 11:57 pm (UTC)
I'm happy to help with Weekend Challenges and Monthly Challenges again next year — though probably from March or after would be best, since then I should be back in a regular schedule with work and the baby!
Nov. 30th, 2018 12:34 am (UTC)
Thank you! No problem; whatever works for you! ;-)

I've had a few (more like 4+) years of stress, so fandom has been put on hold. Things are looking better and I'm much calmer, but I have an exam in january so I can't do fun things yet, but that means I will be able to do much more next year.

I might not be that super interested in participating in challenges etc yet (because I have so many unfinished but posted WIP's) but I do want to try and be more active in the communities I enjoyed being in, this one being one of them :)
Nov. 30th, 2018 12:36 am (UTC)
*hugs* Sorry to hear about the stress, but glad to hear you will have more time for fun in your life next year after your exam. Good luck with that, btw!

No problem; you know we are about doing as much or as little as you want, so welcome back, and only do what you're ready for! We'll be here! ;-)
Nov. 30th, 2018 02:15 am (UTC)
Thanks for the email. I haven't checked LJ in ages.

Since the end of August this year has been busy and stressful, with emotions up and down. We had a death in the family, found out my father in law is cancer free... and too many others to name.

Not to mention the bang and challenge I run. Thankfully one is finished and the other will be done in one more day!

I haven't had time to check through LJ since August Rush. I missed the Swap of Joy because I forgot all about checking the comm. :(

Right now I'm all caught up on all of my orders for my Etsy business so I checked and the Advent is running! So I snagged 3 shows/dates. I hope that was okay.

If you need help I can. As long as I can schedule the post I'm available. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and early Thursday are the best days for me.
Nov. 30th, 2018 02:24 am (UTC)
Family is the most important thing, and with you having a lot going on, it's understandable you haven't been near LJ in a while, so don't ever worry about things here unless you have time!

I'm sorry you missed things you may have liked to do, but rest assured we'll be here next year for you to join in as and when you can!

YAY for joining in on Advent - I'm glad you found some days and fandoms! I;ll go there next to update things!

Thank you - will definitely keep you in the loop so you can offer up any help you can offer with next year's challenges etc! ;-)
Nov. 30th, 2018 02:34 am (UTC)
I will be here to help and participate--Weekend Challenges and Rare Pairs, if you still need help-- and the Numbers challenge never fail to help inspire me with the fabulous prompts.

Truly excellent work everyone :):)
Nov. 30th, 2018 02:50 am (UTC)
YAY! Thank you! I look forward to it!

Everyone has done so well! ;-)
Nov. 30th, 2018 04:24 am (UTC)
I'm sorry I'm such a lurker here, but I love your inspiring spirit, and love learning new words too! :) Thank you for everything, keep up the awesome work!
Nov. 30th, 2018 05:24 am (UTC)

Absolutely no problem! You are welcome to continue lurking, or if you feel so inclined, join in the fun! No pressure at all!

And thank you for your kind words! We love having everyone here and it's so nice to be free of drama at least one place in your life, right?
