Wonderful World of Wednesday

"When I started to count my blessings, my whole world turned around."

~ Willie Nelson ~

As the days and nights turn cold(er) hold your friends close, even if your friends/babies have on a fur coat.

**Warning** Drinking

You are not drunk right now… probably. The song is French, but the spirit is international. There are times when we need a drink or three to remain sane as Uncle Horace talks about the latest conspiracy perpetuated and touted by main stream Martians. Trust him, they've probed him.

Did you know?

People who are raised in warmer climates tend to be friendlier than those brought up in places with cold, harsh temperatures.

Love the picture of the fur babies! Indeed, pet snuggles are a good way to celebrate and give thanks. As for the colder climates, I don't know- I've always preferred the northern parts of places (northern NY, north shore Hawaii, northern England and Britain). It is true that cold can mean scarcity and that makes people more cautious, maybe. I can see that for sure.

Hope everyone has a lovely Thanksgiving. I'll be working it, but then taking a few days after - looking forward to that.

Glad you like the image.

Not sure if it is true, but I do know I am treated like an alien when I am outside of Texas. It is the norm to nod or say hello to everyone you pass, Even if you are having a bad day, be polite and say hello. I go out of my state and, out of habit, I grin and greet strangers on the street. I swear in Missouri they thought I was going to kill them! My sister thinks I am weird because when I see an obviously injured person, I will ask what happened, if they are ok, and wish them a speedy recovery. I'm a Texan, it's what we do! We didn't earn the title Friendship State for nothing.

Sucks that you have to work the holiday, but I wish you a good day filled with smiles and hidden blessings.

Thank you, fairyniamh , and you too - I hope it's a lovely holiday. The Macy's parade passes by my block - and each year I stop downstairs on my way to work to watch a little of the parade. Today, it just happened that I was standing there when the marching band from Texas went by! Check it out!

It was only 17 degrees at start time today - the coldest day ever for it!!! But people were still there in droves. I'm glad the wind had dropped overnight for them.

People who are raised in warmer climates tend to be friendlier than those brought up in places with
“I want to hear.”
“You will.” Whatever Rhyd was intending, he would surely not put Venn at risk. If Agnys stayed near Venn, in the recital hall, she would surely be safe too. He had already promised her and the boy they could attend, believing it would be good for them…for all of Marbordo’s children. Many more had been asked to join them, but after the river death of one, few were willing to risk their children in the strange unknown metal nest they had feared so long.
Fear of the unknown, it seemed, worked both ways. The parah were friendlier, more accepting then those in the dismal cold and dark of Hebenon, but that did not make them foolish.
If only Venn would spend more time here, among them, the walls he had erected around his heart might come down and he would be himself again.
Venn had, however, given up on that ever happening. Not even Agnys would change Rhyd’s mind.
