Marvellous Monday, and WIP Push!

I am pretty hopeless these days at staying on track and getting things done here in the comm on time (I blame menopause! I had a reminder and still I managed to forget last night!), so you'll have to forgive me.

My Monday was fairly busy, although I did have some down time after work before going swimming with my kids, so I should have had time to post then, but... umm... yeah. OK! Enough excuses. I'm planning to get onto my Swap of Joy goodies this week when I have a moment, and then later I'm away for a long weekend with a group of ladies I went to school with. One of them owns a holiday home on a West Coast beach halfway down the North island here in NZ, and while these aren't the best swimming beaches, it will still be nice to get my toes in the sand - it's a bit early here for summer or swimming, but it should be warm enough to walk and appreciate nature down by the water, which is something I love. I'm driving down on Friday with the friend who owns the house, and the rest are flying/driving in from an airport nearer. Home again Sunday, and I have Monday off work to recover, because 6 hour drives are TIRING. Ha!

What about you? Plans for this week looking good?

I am at the orifice right now, so I don't have time to get links for the challenges, or figures for the Big Buddy (but you should be on 40% about now). How are things looking? Check the tabs for the challenges underway if you need to, as well!

Speaking of challenges, I know some of you are doing Nano this month, and there have been some posts to help you along with that, but for those of you who haven't been involved, but would like to do something, there is always time to look at a creation you haven't touched in a while!

I know we're already in the 2nd week of November, so it's a bit late, but flipflop_diva, who was going to post some things for this, is very close to or has given birth this month, and as she has obviously been too tied up with everything that involves to manage, I am stepping in! Thank you for offering Diva, but I can see it's been tricky, so don't feel bad! I hope everything is going smoothly for you and that the changes in your life are going to be the best ones yet!

So, if you have an old WIP in your closet that needs dusting off, now it the time! Today's mission: check your WIPs, re-read what you need to, and decide if this is the one to go on with. Let us know what you've decided in a comment here. I'll check in with you in a day or two to see whether you've found more words already, or just decided what you're going to do with the WIP/s of choice!

Have a great week, everyone! (and apologies that I combined posts here, but I have much work to do at... you know... actual work!)

If I'm going to make progress on my creative projects, this is the week and weekend it'll happen - I finally have some breathing room from work, after the busiest period of time we have all year. I do have a long list of things to make progress on - two holiday swap fics, a couple of WIPs and my NaNo project. NaNo is going to have to be more about getting as far as I can and less about 50k in words - maybe the projects together will get me more than halfway to that, and I'd be perfectly happy with it if that's the case.

Your weekend plans sound like so much fun - hope it's a great time, enjoy the beach. :)

PS - If you have Mondays you need someone to post the next few weeks, I could take on a couple more. Should not be travelling on Mondays for a bit.

How did you do? Sorry for this very late reply, but I didn't go online much last week, and was very busy at work too, then didn't go online at the weekend either, so I'm still catching up! I hope you manage enough to make you feel good about Nano!

I, on the other hand, have done nothing words-wise for a bit. The weekend was excellent! It was very nice to catch up with old school friends properly, and it was a great place to do it!

Oh, and if you could do another Monday soon, that would be fab - I will email you when I work out which one is mine next!

No worries on the reply - I know how it goes! I've been on the road a lot this fall on top of work and when I do have some time the only t hing I seem to have any focus for is knitting. Well, at least I'm getting those projects done! I have two holiday fics to write- I will get those done, but that's about it for the near future I think. Unless I surprise myself.

Let me know, no problem to do a Monday post.

lets see...WIP is obviously NaNo...so got that covered.
at 28k atm; kinda hoping for 30 today, but I've got the stress headache from hell and there's been too much chaos going in the office. We'll see how I'm doing after some caffeine and I get home tonight.
28k out of 50 is more than 40% so, I'm good there too.
Still don't know if the office will be open next week or not, or 1/2 the week...but I for one am hoping for a full week (other than the few hours I may come in to check phone messages or delivery notices etc.) Just have to survive this week...and keep plugging away at words (and keep hoping all the family folks are safe and haven't lost their houses)

Sorry for the late reply - sounds like you were onto it, no matter what life threw your way. I hope you and your loved ones are all safe and haven't lost too much.

Oh, enjoy your trip! It'd be heaven to get away for a few days right now!

Once I post the fic I've been working on today, I ought to be right on target for Big Buddy, which is nice because I was way behind last week!

Hmm... I have two recent WIPs I started and never finished so maybe I ought to drag them out, too.

Thanks! I had a great time! So nice catching up with old school friends in such a nice place! I hope you get a break from the rush, even if you don't get to go away.

YAY for Big Buddy! I hope you're still on track.

Do get out the WIPs! They need you! Good luck!

Sorry for the late reply!

I'm so happy you had a great time! That's one of the nice things about Thanksgiving - I get a four day weekend, so I do get a chance to relax a bit.

Yes! Thanks to word wars and the round robin I've got going, I've officially passed my goal.

It's all good - you were out having fun. :)

I'm over the halfway mark word wise. Round robin for the win...lol

Have fun on your trip. Strolling along the beach sounds divine.

YAY! I hope you're still going strong!

I did have fun, thanks! The beach was windy but not cold.

Sorry for the late reply.

This is really, really late, but I am so sorry for dropping the ball on this! The baby came earlier than expected, and then we were in the hospital for longer than expected because she had jaundice, but I am so sorry for not emailing to tell you I needed help! Thank you so much for doing it instead, and I am so, so sorry again!

Absolutely do not worry! I figured you had a lot going on and hadn't managed to get in touch because of that. ;-)

I hope everything is going well now, and you're enjoying motherhood! oh... and CONGRATS!!!
