Say What Friday

Hello my lovlies!!!

We have survived yet another week. Yay us!

Welcome to a new month. Another chance to rack up the word count with NaNo or other projects.

Here's this week's quote to provide inspiration.

"What we have here is a failure to communicate."

The prison warden in Cool Hand Luke

Do with it what you will.

I can definitely use that...cause I have two characters having that very issue.

Not sure what it means...but I first read the second sentence as "We have suffered yet another week." lmao!

Glad that will help.

I work retail so any week that I can get through with my sanity intact and not riding a bench in the local jail is a good week...lol

“Of course you do, darling. We both do. It is expected of us…”
“By who? No one will care…”
“Of course they will care…”
Ulynda smoothed the front of her dress, pulling away some of the accentuated waist her mother had given her. “We could both die and they wouldn’t care…might even be happier.”
“You fail to understand me…” Neoma snapped, slapping away Ulynda’s hands and making adjustments to her waistline again.
“No, you,” the girl emphasized the second word, “fail to understand me. They don’t want a Founder anymore. They don’t want…”
“They’re all fools, not realizing what is best for them. We kept this city successful for centuries. Without us…well you see the mess things have become.”
Ulynda shook her head. Actually, she felt she had seen very little on which to comprehend her mother’s position. All she saw was a prodcast here and there that suggested that very little in the Levs had gotten any better, or any worse, since the Coup. The only differences now was who was in charge…how much control they wielded, and the newly won ability to go Outside.
