Happy Monday!

It’s Monday again!  Are you ready?  I’m not sure if I am or not myself, but it’s staring me in the face so… let’s be productive!

If you still want to, you can sign up for September here!  Come join us, it’s fun!  The Daily Count challenge is here if you want to check on when you’re up next.  Looks like all y’all have been killing it this month which is awesome.

4. September’s challenge is my favorite – BINGO!  The general cards are here and you can find some pretty fun fandom cards here.  I decided to run with the first self-care and tending card and so far, it’s not looking good for the boys.  Yeah, like Dreamy always says – you hurt the ones you love best.

How did last week treat you?  What’s on your plate for this week?  Let us know so we can cheer you on or give you a little helping hand if needed.

Ugh. Monday. Well, the work week has to start sometime. I had last Friday off and spent the day and the next at training camp with the Blues and hundreds of other fans. It was fun and I wrote over 1600 words about it so that's helped me get past my goal for the month.

This week, it's work and a little bit of play for the weekend. I get to spend time with my nephews on Saturday which is always a treat.

Have a great week & happy writing!

So true! But that sounds like a great way to start the weekend. I know my older girl is anxiously awaiting the start of hockey season. It was 100 degrees yesterday and yet, she was wearing her Golden Knights hoodie. This kid. :)

Always fun to spend time with the family! Good luck with work. :)

I'm killing it with our round robin. I'm sitting at over 3k, which is freaking awesome.

Please don't hurt the boys too badly.

Got a few ideas for bingo, so I might run with them this week.

That is amazing! I'm glad the boys are actually earning their keep finally.

Um, oops? One of them is in the ER at the moment but he's still mostly functioning. :)

Awesome, good luck!

Fate - OZ - 340 words
He snuck his first drink from one of the bottles in his father’s liquor cabinet when he was twelve. It tasted terrible. He didn’t understand why people liked it so much. In college, he was fond of the sugary sweetness that came with a rum and coke. Two or three of those and he could take on whatever swill that followed. After he graduated and had taken a job at his father’s law firm, his father directed him on the proper way to drink with clients. “No beer, no shots, none of that sweet, fruity crap I’ve seen you drink with your friends. One drink. A martini. And you sip it. Let the clients get drunk on whatever they want.” Harrison then showed Tobias how to properly order the drink and how to mix one if they were entertaining in the office.

He followed his father’s advice, entertained the clients, and brought in more work to the firm. He worked eighty hour days and Genevieve rarely saw him. “One of the reasons that your mother and I have stayed together so long is that I don’t bring my work home with me,” Harrison told him. “Take a break. Relax a little, then go home.”

Tobias decided to go to his favorite watering hole. He sat at the bar, ordered a martini, and let the work of the day slip away. Before he knew it, there were three empty glasses in front of him. He was feeling no pain and was looking forward to seeing his wife when he got home.

The girl on the bike derailed his plans.

He didn’t know when the tide had turned- at the moment of impact, surely. Or were the fates set long before that? Perhaps when he and Gen moved into the suburbs. Perhaps when he started working for his father or when he decided to practice law. Maybe even when he’d snuck that first drink from his father’s liquor cabinet at the age of twelve, an age that Kathy Rockwell would never reach.

Re: Fate - OZ - 340 words
I don't know the fandom, but this is gut-wrenching. Nice work.

I had a good editing day yesterday...and so am sitting at 35.5k atm...
But I'm running on about 2 hours of sleep so Monday is not looking promising (time got away from me while troubleshooting my computer last night, and then it took like an hour and a half to fall asleep...and I still woke up at 5:30)
On the plus side, its payday...and we have a short day due to a board meeting in the office...so maybe I can sleep early.
Sep. 17th, 2018 04:32 pm (UTC)
Ugh on the no sleep, I've done things like that before. Although they usually involve a book I'm trying to finish. :)

Hooray for payday and here's to hoping you can get out early and catch a nap.

I am doing my best to be a productive grown up for my employer on this Monday. :) Hey, they don't pay us because it's fun, right? So I'm going to try to plow through some things, set out the week's top goals and then maybe try to sneak a few words in. Seems fair.

Maybe a second coffee will help....

Sep. 17th, 2018 04:53 pm (UTC)
Good luck! And yes, more coffee ALWAYS helps. When that fails, sugar. :)

Also, how dressy do I have to be for the show?

I finished cleaning out my closet. I now need to clean up from that. And that is all I'm taking on before the trip.

3 WEEKS!!!

That is all
Sep. 17th, 2018 07:29 pm (UTC)
Same, my friend, same.

I'm thinking not very? In looking at the website, it says nothing about a dress code so come comfy. I want to say I wore jeans when we saw Love.
Also, I'm laughing over the fact they give you directions from inside the the casino which is great because I ALWAYS GET LOST there and at Mandalay.

I think that's more than enough to tackle!

WOOHOO!! I'm excited. Although I don't know where I'm going to put my Blu-Ray player once I get all of H's stuff out from under my desk. Hahaha.

Sep. 17th, 2018 08:16 pm (UTC)
I hear that's the evil plan of the casinos. To suck you in and never let you go!!!!

H might let you keep the boxes. HA!
Sep. 17th, 2018 08:26 pm (UTC)
You're right about that! And there aren't any clocks inside them either. It's a big scam!

ROFL - no doubt about that. Easier to pack without the boxes. :D
Sep. 17th, 2018 08:27 pm (UTC)
That's how they getcha! HAHAHAHHAHA

I amuse so easily
Sep. 17th, 2018 08:38 pm (UTC)
Amen to that. They knew what they were doing when they built this town. :)

Same here. But that makes us FUN PEOPLE.
