At last, I am here, sitting on the Iron Throne. I have been destined for this since the day that Father forced me to marry that fat sot. Father may have known it too, grooming Jamie from a young age to be a soldier, never anything higher than a valued member of the Kingsguard. Father had never said anything to me directly about how to rule, but kept me around, invisible, as only a woman could be, as he discussed schemes and plans and exercised his own brand of power. I learned a lot, watching and waiting. I learned things on my own as well. The people are not as important as the power. Everyone is expendable. Men are weak- even my own sons. A woman can be just as clever, just as ruthless, as a man, and in some cases, even more so. It takes strength of character to hold a seat of power. I have birthed three children into this world, have seen them all taken from me, and still I survive and keep moving forward with my plans to unite the Seven Kingdoms under my rule. Part of me wishes that Father could have been here to see this, but then I remember that he sold me off to be wed more than once, and I’m glad that he is dead.
