Say What Friday

Greetings all. Happy Friday. We have survived another week.

How goes things word/graphic wise? Are you getting inspired by the August Rush pics?

Big Buddy will be checking in tomorrow.

If you need more inspiration, then try this week's quote.

"Originality is the art of concealing your sources."

Ben Franklin

Do with it what you will.

and finally...another roleplay bit for another prompt stacking up in my inbox...

Someone had once told Kai that originality was all about concealment…concealing sources specifically, but concealment nonetheless. She had lived her life as one of concealment, hiding her sexuality, fluidly moving between genders as it suited her, but inevitably coming back to female because that was where she felt the most comfortable. It didn’t matter what anatomical parts nature had endowed her with. She chose who she was…and that someone was predominantly female.

Didn’t that make her eligible for this fight for House leadership?

If she could find a way to win it…no matter how slim the odds, she could in turn leadership over to Cassidy. Cass could be a bit of a dick sometimes, like most people, but as a House leader he wouldn’t be the ass Carl had recently begun to turn into.

It pained Kai to feel that way, for she dearly loved Carl. But the reality of life at Tigh Ard, particularly since Tamara’s disappearance, was that the Laird was becoming increasingly unbearable. Something had to be done to change it.

She wasn’t the best person for the job. She had almost no fighting skills, beyond some martial arts training she had taken for self-defense. She had no magic, no dragons, and nothing working in her favor.

But perhaps, with a little originality, she could find a way to win.

Poison…non-lethal of course. Sleeping draughts. Too much alcohol. A couple of mickeys slipped into a meal. Maybe even some manner of spell or two if Constantine, or Destiny…or one of the SIDs…could help her. Those two women were, after all, just women. Strip away the magic and the dragons and what were they really?

And so Kai began to study…and ask questions…doing her best to keep it under the radar so that neither of the women in question could possibly know…
