Command - Sansa Stark - Game of Thrones - 302 words
Winterfell was hers again. She was Queen of the North. What she wouldn’t give to have Robb back here in his rightful place. Or Mother, as a trusted advisor.

Trusted. Maybe not the best idea. Robb trusted Mother and look where it got the both of them.

Rickon was dead, and Bran was as good as dead, no longer her brother, really. She doubted he would take the throne even if it was offered to him. He said that his responsibilities as the three-eyed raven- whatever that meant- were too great.

Arya didn’t want it, but then again, Arya had never been ambitious in that way. For that, Sansa was grateful. She didn’t want Arya as an enemy. Her sister would make a good Hand until Jon returned to reclaim Winterfell.

Jon was a bastard, but he was the person that had been chosen as the new King of the North. He wasn’t at Winterfell now, having gone to that dreadful Kings Landing with the Dragon Queen. Sansa prayed to the Old Gods for his safety. She knew what Cersei could do.

Sansa’s thoughts turned to the one person she wished to have beside her most of all- her father. She tried to put as much of his wisdom into her governance, but the sad truth of it was that at the time she should have been absorbing those life lessons, she was distracted with the whys and wherefores of being a proper lady. The Septas taught her things like needlework and how to behave at a dinner party.

The real lessons in power came later from Cersei and Joffrey and Littlefinger. She prayed that these lessons didn’t corrupt her too much, that deep inside, she could channel her father’s leadership qualities and help Winterfell survive the winter that had finally come.
