Melting Monday!

Happy Monday!  How’s life in your neck of the woods?  Things are good here, even if it is hotter than the devil’s underpants in these parts.  But that’s life in the desert, I suppose.   I’d rather the extreme heat than piles of snow.  But then, I’ve been told I’m a freak of nature.

How are you doing with your bingo cards?  I have a single line so far, but am hoping to get the rest done as well.  Wish me luck!

1. Flash Challenge!  Your flash challenge prompt is: cactus.  Give me 100 words or a graphic and I’ll reward you with my undying love and admiration.  (Side note: you give me saguaro icons and I’ll love you for life.)

2. Last week’s challenges:
3. Big Buddy 83%!  How are you doing?  Are you on track?  For once, I’m ahead of the game.  Everything from here on out is just gravy baby!

simplyn2deep – 4,980
agdhani – 41,500
cmk418 – 3,320
asphaltcowgrrl – 12,450
sharpiesgal – 830
craterdweller – 12,450
candream – 830
fairyniamh – 2,490
flipflop_diva – 4,150
weakmoments – 116,200 (I’m confused by what you’re goal for the month is, so correct me if I’m off, please!)

We’re in the final stretch for June!  Beat those WIPS into submission guys!

If you still want to, you can sign up for June here!  Additional note: You can sign up for the Daily Count Challenge here as well.

4. June’s Challenge is in full swing and this month it’s BINGO!  This is my favorite challenge we do here and our wonderful Dreamy even made a handful of fandom themed cards as well.  You can find them all here.

It’s going to be a great week!  Let’s go out and have us some fun!

Did I miss july signups...in my defense the world is burning here...again...fourth year in a row...and I've been distracted and preoccupied.

I'll do my best to update the numbers and make the challenge day on the 30th, but as I cannot predict the fire, my apologies in advance if I don't (or can't check in).

At least I'm ahead of my count...and I have another book proof lined up for publication.

If you mean Big Buddy signups, I haven't seen a post yet. Ugh, I am so sorry. We have brush fires here as well, but it's never as bad here as it is in Cali. Stay safe!

Your safety has to come first, no one will ever hold that against you!

Being ahead helps and congrats on getting another one ready for publication!

yeah, the local fire is up to 8200 acres now...I think 22 structures confirmed destroyed.
Mostly its forest out there where its burning, but there are some homes...and a lot of marijuana grows according to the locals...
and no containment yet. sigh.
makes it very smokey and nerve-wracking out here.

That's awful. It gets bad, fast this time of year. I've heard stories about the first responders and the issues they face with the marijuana farms going up like that.

Work is kicking my backside all over the place again. Today's my challenge day, though, so I am hoping to find some energy and focus tonight. And I have great hopes for some time to myself in July - starting with zero major weekend work events, as opposed to the two we had in June. Six day weeks suck.

Ugh, I'm sorry to hear that! Work has a way of dragging us down. I have faith you can get your words in today! Roll with the power of the birthday month! Hahaha.

Good luck - I don't think I'd survive six day weeks! Or, my family wouldn't anyway. :D

Six or more days in a row of work sucks. Here's hoping things settled down after the 4th.

Thank you. Yeah, it is a bit much - and though I hate to admit it, long stints burn me out faster than they did years ago. :} I do think we'll get at least a small summer lull - yay for that.

It's Monday and I got the day off, so the week is starting off on a positive note.

I've got ideas for a few comment fic prompts, so there will be words to boost my monthly word count.

It's all good.

That is a most excellent way to start the week!

There have been some good ones over the last few days, have fun. I have so many things to finish. *sigh*

Finally back home after four days of travel- the NHL draft was a fun experience once again. It was hot in Dallas on Friday. Over a hundred when we got out of the car around 6 and still quite steamy when we got back in at 10. I have lost all tolerance for extreme weather, which is not great when you live in the Midwest.

I passed my goal last week, which is good because I've done zero writing in the past few days. I've got one more Bingo story to do so I'll make sure to write that before the end of the month.

Stay cool if you can & have a great week!

I'm so happy to hear you had a good time at the draft! Definitely an experience to remember. Ugh - I feel you on the heat. I'm forever thankful that it's not humid here.

Wonderful! Good luck with your bingo. :)

We have a predicted high of 110 today so cool is not in the forecast!

I'm behind. My laptop has been in the shop for repairs for a few days so I'm only at 3500 words. I get it back today so I'm hoping to catch up and finish strong by Saturday.
Jun. 27th, 2018 05:20 pm (UTC)
Oh no, hopefully you get it back today! And you can do it, I have faith!
Jun. 27th, 2018 09:49 pm (UTC)
Laptop came back so I will be writing later today when it cools down.
Jun. 27th, 2018 10:13 pm (UTC)
HOORAY! Good luck with the words. If I waited until it cooled off, you wouldn't hear from me until October. Haha.
Jun. 27th, 2018 10:27 pm (UTC)
It is cool enough right now but I work better at night when I am at least likely to be disturbed
Jun. 27th, 2018 10:34 pm (UTC)
I totally understand that. For me, it's early in the morning because no one I live with gets up until they absolutely have to! :)
Jun. 27th, 2018 09:17 pm (UTC)
The Magnificent Seven, Vin/Chris + Buck/JD + Josiah + Ensemble, The Tracker's Methods, 1,022 words, PG/K+

Awesome work!
