Say What Friday

Greetings Earthlings....

It is Friday, which means we have survived another week.

How are the words/images going? Hopefully, you are doing well. If not, there still is plenty of month left.

Here is this week's quote to get the juices flowing.

"True knowledge exists in knowing that you know nothing."

Do with it what you will.

Remember Bingo is this month's challenge, so grab a card and have at it.

As we go into the last week of this month, please keep your numbers updated.

word count-wise, I'm good.
But I didn't get to do the weekend prompts from last week as intended cause RL sucks.
Maybe this weekend...since the editing project ended and there's 'downtime' before NaNoCamp starts up in July.

Good luck.

I'm still trying to coax some more words out of my stubborn, evil plot bunny.

used it, sorta, in this bit:

The corridor they had chosen, beyond a pair of ornate blue doors, led to a collection of conference rooms, devoid of people but thick with dust and wilted ferns that, despite their droopiness, were not dead yet. It suggested that someone was here, someone making an effort to keep the foliage alive even if they were not dusting the furniture or cleaning the grungy, icy windows. On a projector screen in one of the conference rooms, accompanied by the hum and clatter of a mechanical display device, an image similar to what Tamara had seen through the bedroom window flickered like an old black and white silent film with the words “Happy World Penguin Day displayed over the looping reel of penguins marching off a ledge like tiny, suicidal lemming soldiers.

They weren’t diving, just falling, or so it appeared, and without knowing what they were falling to below, it might well have been into the water…or to their deaths.

The thought was disturbing enough to prompt her to draw closer to David, who wrapped his arm around her shoulder, looked down at her, and smile.

Something in that smile, however, was just as unsettling, and so she shrugged away the offered comfort and continued the search for Peter.

David sulked now, his expression disappointed and pensive, his hands shoved sullenly into his pockets. Despite that posture, however, there was a hint of something dangerous in his eyes that made Tamara hasten her steps, eager to be somewhere other than the confined narrowness of this hallway.

Their choice of corridors ended in another set of blue doors. Opening them brought them back, with a start, into the lobby.

Tamara frowned and looked the way they had come. She could see the doors at the far end, also blue, and though she felt confident they had not gotten turned around, as they had not entered any of the rooms only continued on a straight path down the hall. And yet they were back at the beginning. Again.

This plane of reality, such as it was, was trying to manipulate where they went, and seemed not to want them to leave.

If this was David’s doing, subconscious or not, it was meant to prevent them from taking the Shadow King across into the ‘real’ world.

Not that Tamara was trying to leave. Not yet at least. Not without Peter. Not without a plan.

Okay, so I'm slowly working my way through old things I've saved... this is short and sweet (and a little lame).
