If ever a day needed coffee, it's Monday

awesome Monday.jpg

The last time I posted on a Monday I was whining about snow. So clearly, it's been a few weeks. A big Thank You to asphaltcowgrrl for picking up after me. You are awesome sweetie.

In personal stories, and you may have already heard this elsewhere, I am turning 50 this year and while complaining about not knowing what big thing I should do to celebrate, haldoor said "Hey, why don't we meet you in Las Vegas?!?" And so I'm traveling west this fall! It's exciting and intimidating and feels like it's scheduled for next year and several years from now all at once! And we're going to see Bryce Canyon which has been on my bucket list since before I knew what the term 'bucket list' was.

How are you all doing? What are your big plans? And on to the stuff!

1 – FLASH CHALLLENGE – Your amazing Monday prompt is - Crazy road side attractions Give me 100 words or a graphic for the fabulous sake of saying you’ve done it! I once went to see a 'dinosaur museum' which turned out to be watching a video in someone's converted garage and then climbing on the shale rock in their back yard looking a actual fossils! It was tacky and cool all at once!

2 – Reminder of last week’s challenges:

I'm up to 1857 with the posted words- I've written a bit more, just still trying to get them in some kind of cohesive order and not just abandon them. And the hockey is starting to let up a little bit, so that'll give me more writing time.

I love the topic for the flash prompt. There's a website of roadside attractions that I look at every time we take a road trip because I like the quirky. I'm sure I have a photo or two that I can make an icon from.

Have a great week!

EXCELLENT with the words!!! And with some time coming up!

I love tacky things, I had the BEST time climbing through that guys yard looking at the prints in the rocks. I love the idea of planning roadtrips with one or two oddities!

It rained yesterday, so that was a good start for the week since we haven't seen a lick of rain since March. It was starting to get parched, especially for the folks who own manicured lawns. (Foolish mortals.)

No words as of yet, but an outline for someone's b-day pressie.

As of ten pm Friday, I will be on vacation. Hallelujah! Praise the Lord!! Thank you, Jesus!!!

I so need the break. Hopefully, writing will take place between bouts of housework.

I think I'm sitting at 52k right now...got one book finalized and uploaded (for release in October) and another may be finalized this month (though I don't know if I'll get it uploaded or not...depends on money at this point) Need to come up with a quick fundraiser ;)

Today thru Wednesday will be eaten up with studying for the most part, and work, so not many words will be made, but I'll try to get a couple hundred in at least.

YAY you for getting things done! Very impressive. My fingers are crossed for your fundraising efforts.

And good luck with the studying! You can do this!

I'm suddenly singing, "The Biggest Ball of Twine in Minnesota" from Weird Al's movie, UHF. Hahaha. Just when you thought I couldn't get any dorkier...

As for this fall, I AM EXCITED! I hope you and H have a blast and that Bryce Canyon is all you hoped it would be!

This has to be my week. I've written less than 1k words all month and that's not like me. *sigh*

THOSE ARE THE BEST PLACES! And of course you know the song. If anyone knew that song I would have bet money on it being you!

Now make me words!!! WORDS DAMMIT! Go find a museum that your boys can make fun of and then find utterly fascinating!

Hah - I'm labeled for life! But then, I kind of labeled myself because there are a handful of classic 80's songs that I'll never be able to sing the correct lyrics to because of Weird Al. ("Bad" being first and foremost among them.)

OH MY GOD. I wanna take those three idiots to the Mob Museum. Hahaha. AND I AM! I HAVE 134 SO FAR.

I love it when my evil plan works!!!!!!

...and I just added all of Weird Al's discography to my Spotify library. My kids will hate me.
