It's Monday Again!

And it's my only niece's birthday, too.  She's twenty-one today and I honestly can't believe it.  But then, my older girl just turned eighteen so maybe I ought not be so shocked?  But man, these kids don't stop growing and turning into adults before our eyes.  It's fascinating and amazing and scary.  My older girl just got her first job working at a dog day care.  She's loving it even if she comes home exhausted.

Summer is well on its way here in Southern Nevada.  We have a very brief affair with that thing called spring, but that's life in the desert, I suppose.  If the temps keep up like they have, we'll hit 90F officially in a week.  Which is beautiful, but makes me fear for what July and August will be like.  Hopefully it's starting to warm up wherever you are as well.  My friend in PA said they were expecting more snow and I can't even wrap my brain around that.

Reminders:

1. Flash Challenge! Your flash challenge prompt is courtesty of Thomas Rhett: Crash and Burn.  Give me 100 words or a graphic and I'll send you a handful of cat hair.  Mostly white so it'll go with anything.  Freaking animail is leaving clumps all over the house.  A true sign summer is on the way.

2. Reminder of last week's challenges:

Big Buddy!  Since we're only two days in, I'll list what I see on the last post and let me know if I've gotten something goofed up.

I know, right? Between Netflix and my reading obsession, I haven't hardly written anything. *sigh*

These kids grow up so damned fast! I know exactly how you feel! the nieces on my husband's side of the family who are all 5+ years older than my eldest daughter (there are none between that age and her) are all getting married and/or having babies these days, so I know time is passing fast! I remember a bunch of them as little kids when she was a baby, but OMG she's 22 this year!!!

Yay for the (in some places, imminent) arrival of summer in your part of the world - I know there are some people who are long sick of snow and will be so glad to see the warmer weather! Over here, we have just put the clocks back, and while Easter weekend was beautiful weather-wise, it definitely feels autumnal out there. Still, it's a nice time of the year when it's not actually raining, so I will breathe it in while it lasts, and hope the rain stays light this winter (I was surprised we didn't float away last year). I shouldn't moan since we don't get snow, but yeah... rain.

I have done very little words for March (none to count, anyway), so I need to latch onto the WIP Push once it kicks off this month and attempt to get some decent wordage in... maybe even POST something! I shall work on that this week!

Have a lovely week!

I know, right? Oh lord, I think I'll cry when the first one of the kids gets married or has a baby. My two are the youngest of the five, so maybe it hits me harder? I don't know.

Yes, I love the summer! I'm just hoping the east coast eventually gets some warmth here soon. You know, as much as I love the rain, too much can be more devastating than snow. Nothing in excess is good, I suppose. Enjoy the weather while you can!

Good luck with the words! I know you can do it!

Thanks and you as well!

Strange coincidence - today is my only niece's birthday as well. She just turned 16 and immediately went out & got her driver's license. I'm very proud of her.

No writing happening yet with Easter & Jesus Christ Superstar happening yesterday and then my three-year-old nephew was over tonight so I spent most of the evening playing with him.

It's April here in St Louis and I'm missing warm. (Probably in another week, I'll be starting to miss cold) We actually had an ice storm and a little snow accumulation yesterday and today it was freezing all day. I wouldn't mind a day or two in the 60s, just for a change of pace.

Very cool, I hope she had a great day! Hahaha - that sounds like my older child. She did not wait one minute longer than she had to.

Aw, little ones are so fun! When we went to Easter dinner, my niece and nephew's half brothers (13, 11, and 3) were over as well and Owen (the 3 year-old) is such a cutie. But the month is young, you'll get your words!

Hahaha... you sound like my kid. She doesn't like being cold, but she hates being hot and well, it's more than a little warm here in the summer. I can't believe that people are still getting snow though. It's insane. Here's to hoping some nice weather comes your way soon!
