Awesome Monday!

awesome Monday.jpg

Here we all are again - ready and raring to go on another week. This morning was not an easy one in terms of getting myself out of bed - I was up late last night waiting for my daughter to get home from an Ed Sheeran concert, and then the alarm went off before I knew it... so by 11am I was feeling very ready for a Nana Nap, though of course I'm not allowed to take them at work! I did struggle to keep my eyes open for a while there, but thankfully was feeling a bit better after lunch.

It's a short week work-wise, in these parts, due to the Easter break. In NZ, Easter Friday and Easter Sunday are the biggest public holidays, with the majority of things closing down fully on them - the only other time that happens is Christmas Day! I must admit, I am very much looking forward to the 4 days in a row (as a public servant, I get Monday off too) without being at work! And my husband's birthday falls on Easter Sunday this year, so it's a big celebration at my house. The only downside to the weekend is that it's also the end of daylight saving here, so we will really be on the countdown to winter. For most of you it's the opposite, of course, and I wish you a very happy spring as I enter autumn!

Here are the reminders and other things you need to help kick you off for the week:

1 – FLASH CHALLENGE – Your amazing Monday prompt is - "Opposites Attract." Give me 100 words or a graphic for the fabulous sake of saying you’ve done it!

Off the mark a bit with my goal this week at 4549, so I'm going to be cranking those words out between now & Saturday to make it.

You're so lucky to have a four-day weekend. Not only don't we make a big deal out of Easter where I work, but some brain trust decided to schedule a work event for Saturday morning, so it's a one-day weekend for me. Ugh. Yes, I can comp out time on another day, but that's not the point. One of my friends from high school will be coming in for the weekend, so I'll get to visit with her.

I love the end of daylight savings time. That extra hour, be it for sleep or additional writing time, seems like a blessing.

Happy writing!

You don't have too far to go - I know you can make it!

I am lucky, I know! Poor you, not even getting the usual two days though, but at least your friend visiting will help make up for that!

I do love that sleep-in at the end of daylight saving, I must admit, so you're right, it's not all bad! I only hope the animals in my house let me sleep in! (do I sound like I love my bed?!!)

Good luck with your writing too!

We don't get any days off for Easter...but I do get to leave early Friday to pack and pick up a rental car...and then fly to Los Angeles for the Legion premiere (which I'm so distracted over I'm having a hard time focusing on much of anything else, lol)

Needless to say, I didn't get any words this weekend...house cleaning, errands and such on Saturday, and then yesterday just chilled...but since I'm ahead of count, I'm not worrying about it.

It's getting through this week in any sort of productive fashion that I'm worried about lol

That sounds like a great weekend, even without the extra days off! Have fun with it!

You do so well with your word count, I am not surprised to hear you're ahead!

Good luck with being productive this week! ;-)

I actually made words today! Not just editing...but real, live words!
Now we'll see if I get to make any more lol.

I am not even close to my word goal for the month. *sigh* I'm hoping to get back to a crossover WIP I started and that should help.

Sorry to hear that fall is approaching on your end of the world. But it could always be worse. You could still be getting snow in what is supposed to be spring. :)

Oh my word, that flash challenge prompt made me cackle.

Some months are like that, but I have faith you will get there!

I know! I am a bit of a wuss - summer never lasts long enough for me! But this is not a bad time of year either - the sunny days with slightly cooler temps (and thus not so humid) are rather nice! I do not envy anyone still getting snow when it should be warming up. I hope your spring is proving pleasant!

You cackle away, my friend! I know exactly who will be making you cackle, and I hope it provides you with more words! ;-)

Thank you!

I'm with you - I think I'm the only one in the state looking forward to summer. The heat is so much nicer than the cold, although our version of cold would make the East Coasters laugh. We're supposed to hit 80 by the end of the week, so it's going splendidly!

Hah - I figured you'd know why I found it so amusing. :D I need to play with that prompt a lot.
