AWESOME MONDAY!

awesome Monday.jpg

Alrighty, then! It's Monday again, and it's time to plan out your awesome for the week! How's your day shaping up so far, and what do you have planned for the rest of the week?

As for me, I have had a pretty good weekend, with just the right mix of puppy-sitting, entertainment and jobs around home. I also managed 882 words on Saturday, so that feels pretty good. This week has started okay; at work I got through a file that had been waiting around for me for a few days, so yay, crossed that one off! Tonight I have completed my census form (NZ has these every 5 years. If you want, tell me how often you do them where you live, and when's the next one due?)

Tomorrow is a busy day - in the morning I have a review hearing to attend at work (not the best fun, but not about me so not an issue), and after work, my daughter and I are going to see James Blunt in concert! I'm looking forward to that, and although that will mean a late night and a very tiring Wednesday, it should be worth it!

From there, things will be quieter, so I'm hoping to get onto the February Bingo banners (go here to leave a comment if you completed something for Bingo and would like a reward banner), and then do some more WIP words, especially on Saturday, as I am up for the Daily Count Challenge that day!

Here are the reminders and other things you need to help kick you off for the week:

1 – FLASH CHALLENGE – Your amazing Monday prompt is - "You say that like it's a bad thing." Give me 100 words or a graphic for the fabulous sake of saying you’ve done it!

2 – Reminder of last week’s challenges (and a few other important things!):
WotD Maladroit - WotD Featly - I - WWoW - October Bingo Rewards
WotD Vulnerary - 5+1 Challenge - 980 - WotD Epistemic - March DCC Schedule - WotD Naissance
Say What - WC - AU Masterlist - Bingo - Wrap-up - WotD Intersectionality - WotD Fiddle-footed

And 3 – Big Buddy 16% - Are you all on schedule?

I made a big push this weekend...lots of editing time so that I was finished before this week of writing a class paper. (do those words count? lol)
sitting at 21k right now, but with the paper up next, not sure exactly how much creative time will get put in this week.
So the week's goal is the paper...and maybe getting this book also totally edited/formatted to also be uploaded for future release...
we'll see how it goes.

You can count whatever you like! We leave that up to you.

Sounds like a great plan - good luck! ;-)

I have a WIP I'd like to finish up and post this week.

Am also doing some reading and planning; preparations for the H50 Big Bang artwork I'll be making for two writers. It's the first time I'm taking part in a challenge by making artwork - am looking forward to it and hoping I can pull off some cover art they'll really like. :)

I have faith that you can do it! we do have a WIP Push coming up next month (I think I have that right) but any time is always a good time to finish one!

Oh wow, that is awesome! What a fun challenge too - I wish you every success with that and hope your writers will like what you make! ;-)

Hosted an Academy Awards party yesterday which meant I did absolutely zero writing on Saturday and Sunday - I did a little bit on the first two days of the month, but, at 300 words, I'm not where I need to be right now.

I do have today off though (and it's my Daily Count Challege Day) so I hope to be able to rack up the words today and be well ahead for next week's check in. I have plenty of prompts to work with too, so that will help.

I live in the US so we have to do the census every 10 years- next one is in 2020. If I recall there are both short census forms and long census forms, I had to fill out a long census form once, not fun.

Enjoy the concert tomorrow & have a great week!

What fun! I managed to kind of miss everything including the results of the AA this year (usually I will at least see who won in the paper next day), but have heard a few good things since.

You can only improve on the words, right? I hope your day off helped with that!

I suppose with the US being so much bigger they have to only do it every 10 years or it would take forever to analyse the results! I was surprised that our census had so few questions this time around - I'm sure there were more last time! It was also our first time of doing it online in this country, so hopefully that's worked, though I heard they have a lot of follow-up on people who haven't done it - it's compulsory here - which could be a pain!

Thank you! The concert was absolutely brilliant! James Blunt really knows how to work a crowd, and every song was great, even the ones I didn't know! The rest of the week seems to be going okay, though I really need to get in some more words!

Ahead on words - behind on graphics the opposite of what normally happens lol

Ha! I guess that happens sometimes! I'm sure you'll get back on track with the graphics soon though! ;-)

I'm at 1899. A little behind, but not bad. I want to try to get ahead by the weekend because I have a business trip coming up with days I won't be able to write.

That's not too shabby, but I hope you manage to get ahead before your trip! Good luck with that; hope it's a good trip and not one you wish you didn't have to make. ;-)

I have a fic to finish, but am not sure how to close this one up. *sigh* But it'll get done, I'm sure. Not quite at my word goal, but not far off either.

Hopefully the hearing went well and the puppy is behaving. :D

You will find a way, I'm sure of it! And if you're not far off, you will make the rest up, I have faith!

The hearing was straight-forward and thankfully didn't cause me any extra work, unlike the last one! The puppy is being a very good boy for the most part! (not to mention being adorable) ;-)

I'm about 1300 words shy, which is nothing once I sit and write. But thank you for the confidence!

HOORAY! So happy to hear it. And even better that the pup is being good and cute. :D

UGH!

Was out of work sick on Monday, probably should have been today but we have a Nor'Easter hitting tomorrow which is bringing a foot of snow and you know... Plows!

There have been no words or graphics and I owe graphics as rewards for January so ...

I did buy a smart notebook and am greatly hoping that it will encourage some words for me, and it wasn't a massive investment, no matter how stupid it sounds to my father who bought a Segue and hitches to attach to both vehicles so that he can bring his Segue places, which seams silly as the thing is supposed to bring him places and I don't think he's EVER used the thing *sigh* I'm a bit bitter. BUT hopefully the smart notebook will do wonders for my motivation and I WILL RULE THE WORLD!

I'm also planning on being super awesome and hopefully finishing the knitted blanket I've been working on by the end of the weekend. I'm still creatively productive if not word productive.

HI!

HI!!! *hugs*

I hope you are feeling better soon! We must be of the one mind again as I had two sick days last week (which I needed, mentally at the very least, in all honesty). Good luck with the snow and the plows too, of course!

A smart notebook sounds fantastic (no matter what your father thinks and considering his purchase and use - or lack thereof!!!). Can you link me to show what it's like? I am trying to use my phone more for all manner of things but I wonder how one of those would be for me, and perhaps it would be a better option in some ways? Love to hear more about it! E-mail me if it's easier, though others here may be interested, I suppose!

Oooh, knitted blanket - nice! Which reminds me I need to get back on that baby cardy I gave up on in Oct as I had done the wrong style finish and now need to either undo some or add on a more complex piece of work (hood vs collar)... *rolls eyes at self* It's been too hot here in recent months to even consider, but it will be cooling down some soon and if I don't get onto it, the baby in question will be too big (if he isn't already!). Thank goodness I made a 'next winter-ish' size instead of newborn! And being creatively productive IS A GOOD THING!!!

I’m still dependent on cold meds, and the snow panic has ended, the snow is getting underway now (meaning I can see it on the grass but not the roads) It’s supposed to get bad just in time for me to drive home, I’m hoping it holds off for just a half hour longer. It’s all about me!!!

I haven’t had a chance to play with it yet. The smart notebook I got is by Elfin Book. I believe it’s aimed more at students who learn more from writing than listening. You take your notes in what is essentially a regular looking notebook but with a special pen, then you take a picture of the page you’ve written on with your smart phone, it loads, you can sort the pages into files as you like. You are supposed to be able to load them into Drive or Evernote or whatever (I presume I’ll transcribe hand written stuff into word documents at work). Then you microwave the book for a couple of minutes and the ink erases. There are lined pages and sketching pages. It seemed to me, like a great alternative to trying to type things on my phone (which I hate). Transcribing I can do here and there when no one is looking.

Knitting always feels so much more organic in the winter. I don’t blame you. My best summer knitting tends to be those bags, or blankets that I make squares that get sewn together. It doesn’t feel like you’re lugging as much stuff out by the pool.

HAPPY DAY TO YOU! I did do 335 words today and totally checked out of work while I did it. My poor assistant. I so shouldn’t have done that. 😉

It is about you! I hope you got home before it got too awful!

That does sound like a fun toy (I mean that in the sense of 'useful tool')! I hope you find it of use! I shall look it up!

Absolutely on the knitting front! I will remind myself to pick up the baby cardy soon!

HAPPY DAY to you too! 335 words sounds like a good number, even if at the cost of your assistant picking up work slack! I should word or at least make Bingo banners tonight if I am not too lazy! HA!

It was still raining when I left for the day and continued until about 9pm where I live then it promptly turned into 14" of snow by 5am. Work had no power yesterday (although I still worked), a lot or my area is out. Most of my neighborhood is out. My service riser is down at home, so when people can get around to fixing it, we will be w/o power at home for hopefully a short time. Which depends on co-ordinating the utility company with my electrician....

And I'll stop ranting now!

Oh my! I didn't see this till now, but I'm hopeful you are okay and the power wasn't off for too long! Massive hugs!
