It's been tough.
But I am working on a 3x3 card and have a drabble blackout done so here goes!
They don't stop driving until they're miles away from everywhere. By that stage, Garcia's phone battery is almost flat and she tries to tell herself that's why she can't locate anyone else's signal.
She tries but she knows better.
She must make some sort of noise because Luke turns his head sharply, then he's pulling the car off the road and closing his hand over hers. "Penelope?"
"They're gone." Her voice sounds broken and when exactly did she start crying? "They're all gone."
His hand tightens on hers. "You've still got me," he reminds her and it's more than enough.
Luke doesn't need to look out the window to know the promised snow has arrived, the chill in the apartment tells him as much. Still, he peeks anyway and what he sees sends him straight back to a warm bed.
But not a warm welcome because as he presses his body against Garcia's she pulls away with a yelp. "You're freezing," she informs him.
"There's ten inches of powder out there." He pulls her back, nuzzling her neck, hands wandering. "Why don't we stay in bed all day and you can warm me up?"
She sighs theatrically. "If I must..."
"So I've been thinking."
Rowie doesn't reply so Johnno continues, "I think we should get a new dog." He's surprised by the tears in her eyes. "Aw, Ro... I know you miss Stevie Ray, I'm not trying to replace him, honest... I just thought it'd be nice to have something small and cute around here."
She inhales a ragged breath. "We're not getting a puppy."
He frowns - he hadn't expected such an instant refusal.
"But small and cute... I've got that covered." She presses his hand to her stomach and he suddenly understands, lifts her off the ground with joy.
Luke gingerly places the Hello Kitty toy on Garcia's desk but she doesn't look around.
"It's going to take more than that to make me talk to you."
He doesn't point out that she just did; that was the most she'd said to him in three days. "I know," he sighs. "But I will make it up to you."
"Running after an UNSUB. Alone." Her fingers crash against the keyboard. "You could have-"
"I know." His hands on her shoulders, he kisses her neck. "Let me make it up to you, Penelope."
Her breath leaves her in a rush. "Ok."

Now... go get some sleep. Hahaha (and you sound like my husband every year during the Australian Open... the matches don't even start until 2 or 3 AM)
I watched some CSI Miami over Christmas and remembered Adam had joined Criminal Minds, which I hadn't looked at the last few years, so I found it on streaming on my sky box and checked it out. I was gone on Garcia/Alvez from their first scene!
And yes - it's very like the Australian Open!
Hah - she's SO reluctant to like him it's hysterical, but she's definitely warming up. I've not watched CSI Miami though, so this is my first exposure to him. :)
Yeah, it's the only time he gets up early and/or stays up all night. Haha.
And yes Garcia is totally warming up to him. I've only seen up to the first couple of eps of season 13 (but I'm fine with spoilers!) and you can see that so clearly!
We're lucky in that we can usually see at least the final of the Australian Open live, it starts at about 8am Irish time. The rest of the matches can be a bit hit and miss.
It's so funny because it's like I DON'T WANT TO LIKE YOU BUT YOU'RE SWEET AND YOU'RE CUTE AND OH NO I THINK I'M STARTING TO LIKE YOU! I'm not sure where I am in this current season, so not sure I could spoil you if I wanted to. :D
I'm on the West Coast of the US and the Australian Open usually starts in the middle of the night. A lot of the time, my husband will record the matches. Other times, he's dumb enough to stay up all night. Haha. 8 AM isn't all that bad. :D
Yay, you! Excellent to see it coming together despite the lack of sleep!
We can sleep in March, right?
I'm not a huge olympics fan anymore, but I certainly know what it's like trying to keep all the balls in the air. I'm still hoping to accomplish a bing card - will see how the week plays out.
