and another:

"He dreamed of burning, hundreds of clawing spike-legged beetles racing across his limbs, up his spine, burrowing as one through his temples into the core of his brain, there to feast in a frenzy that made his fists tighten and ball against the all-consuming agony of it. Someone should be there…someone should know…someone should care. That they did not raised a red sheen over the surface of his skin, a sweltering blanket that dribbled into his eyes and turned the whole world white-hot crimson. Why? Why him? What had he done? Why did he…did anyone…deserve this?

It wasn’t his fault!"

trying to describe emotions with sensations and perceptions and not use other synonyms for that emotion is hard...but I like the results

My hands ball into fists so tight that little half-moons from my nails etch themselves into my palms. The pressure continues to mount. The more I think about it, the more I think about this situation you’ve gotten me into, the more I think about your smug face that I have to see

A scream bubbles up in my throat.

If I can just scream…

If I can just let it out, then this dam will burst and I can go on.

I open my mouth to scream and wind up laughing.

I punch the steering wheel.

Part 6 of the containing saga. Part 1: Day 7 No Dialogue, Part 2: Day 4 Third Person, Part 3: Day 2 First Person, Part 4 A&B Day 11 All Senses, Part 5: Day13: Describe Sad

Greg threw his phone toward the bed in disgust watching as it bounced off the bed and land on the hardwood floor. His hands clenched in fists, he barely refrained from punching the door. He was torn between going to the gym to work his aggravation out and going for a run to clear his head and exorcise the pent up rage at the news from his uncle. Neither which would really work in this situation since this wasn’t something he ultimately had control over. So instead he stalked around his bedroom, kicking over anything in his path as he tried to decide what he was going to do.

He knew from his uncle that his brother hadn’t been out of the cottage in days and when he talked to Ben, his brother acted as if it was no big deal. But he knew his brother was making excuses. Sure the weather was bad, but it shouldn’t stop him from going to the gym to workout there. Ben had never been one to shirk anything, but now he wasn’t doing what he needed to do to get full mobility of his knee.

Something needed to be done to get him out of his funk, if they were closer than a continent apart he’d go kick his ass, but then again why shouldn’t he go kick Benn’s ass. Grabbing his suitcase, he threw clothes inside, hoping in his anger he didn’t forget anything vital. Making a call to the airport to get him on connecting flights and a call to his lover to tell him what he was doing he headed to the airport.
