Thanks for reading. I have a question - do these style prompts have to be done on the day they are posted or any day during the month?
Jan. 4th, 2018 01:37 am (UTC)
Any time before the end of the month!!!

This was harder than I thought it would be. Used 'treat' from the 100-in-100 prompts.
You know you want it. It’s a temptation that’s too hard to say no to and yet, somehow you still try. Being good is hard, so damn hard, but you always do your best.

Today, you’re going to fail.

Looking at his well-muscled body you think that he’s worth the risk. He’d be worth all the chaos, the ridicule, the torment you’d receive. Just a taste, you think, a quick bite of his caramel skin, and you’ll be fine. One little treat before you go.

But it’s not that simple. He’s an addition and one that will ruin you forever.

Wonderful work!

And I felt the same way when I did my symmetrina. The first person was not super hard, but getting the second person was rough.

Thank you!

I haven't even attempted my symmetrina yet. First person is like having a conversation, third person is almost second nature but second person is weird. To be honest, I sat here for a good ten minutes before I could even figure out HOW to write second person. Hah.

Thanks. :)

Oh, well done! These are hard; I can remember writing this way for something at school once (a million years ago!) but haven't done it much since. ;-)

(just one tiny thing, I'm thinking 'addition' in the last sentence should be 'addiction', or am I missing the point?)
Jan. 3rd, 2018 09:03 pm (UTC)
Thank you! Hah, that's probably the last time I wrote in this POV as well. The things our English teachers do to us.

And you're right - it should be addiction but this is what I get for trying to finish a sentence and answer the phone at the same time. :D Will fix it on my journal now.

Very nice!

One thing I like about the 2nd person is that it's easier to write slash or femslash without the pesky pronouns tripping up the piece or requiring you to do a play by play with the character's names. Ugh. I actually like it better and have gotten to a point where I will occasionally lapse into it while writing either first or third person fic.
Jan. 5th, 2018 05:01 pm (UTC)
Thank you!

You're so right about that - it gets confusing when the pronouns are the same. I hate using the names over and over, too, because it feels SO repetitive and makes me think I can't write a paragraph. Hah.

What do you do when you want to run away from your life? Take your dog and just go, get away from everything and everyone, even just for a while. You know you can’t say those words to anyone for fear they would think you suicidal when all you need is a break. No one making demands on your time. No obligations to be met. Just you, your dog and the open road. Mountains to be seen, trails to be taken and wonders to be discovered. Then the phone rings and you know running away is just a pipe dream.

This is wonderful, true and... exactly. *sigh*

Nice work!

Thanks! I just go back from a couple days driving cross country with mum and reality hit :-(

Destruction (200 - The Betty Fairy Book by Helen E.)
You had heard of this sort of thing before. You just never expected to run across it. This is something that happens to someone else, not you.

You wish that what you had seen was television cameras swarming you because you had won the lottery. Instead, they are swarming you, asking about your mental stability. Asking what you were wearing. Asking if you had known what you were doing.

You might not have planned it, but you have trampled a fairy ring and caused 2 fairies to become injured. One of them was to be married the very minute you destroyed the ring.

They had labeled you as an enemy to fae-kind and they are set to see that you pay restitution for your crimes.

What do they want?

A gallon of honey, a pound of honeysuckle flowers, a golden ring (wrought by your hand), and your hand in marriage. It is only fair they argue, because of your carelessness the prince had lost his intended to a rival clan.

You don’t want to get married, but when you dare to say that an extremely sharp knife is pressed against your throat.

That is how you became a Fairy Princess.
