Wonderful World of Wednesday

“In the winter she curls up around a good book and dreams away the cold.”

~ Ben Aaronovitch, Broken Homes ~

There are times when it is so cold that you just have to jump around (if you can) to stay warm.

**Warning** None

I am frozen here in Texas and thought this was a better choice than **censored**

Such a pretty song! And it even sounds wintry. :) Once the holidays are over, I definitely start counting the time until spring - ten weeks/ 75 days to go!

I bet this winter has you even more anxious for spring, huh? My friend in Long Island is beside herself with all this cold. Stay warm!

I'm trying to take it as it comes this winter, but...yeah, it wears thin! Especially having grown up north of everything but Canada. :) I won't even watch Frozen, lol.

Hah! I totally don't blame you. I'm so used to mild winters (although I'm a pansy and freeze when it's 50º) that I'd never survive something like what the East Coast is getting right now.

I am with you on the counting down the days. I was happy to get above freezing today, if only by a few degrees. I had to thaw out my washing machine drain!

Glad you enjoyed the song.

That quote is me, every day!

The gif, however, reminds me of my cat, Buddy. We lost him last Christmas but he was a Maine Coon and I know he'd have loved the snow!

STAY WARM! My friend in Houston is dying with the temps they've been having. She's not used to it being that cold.

I would say that it is me, but there are days when I just sew, create jewelry, or cook.

Sorry about your kitty. My Squirrel is not liking the cold, at all.

I am up near Dallas and I nearly cried when we finally got above freezing today. Try to stay warm.

Nothing wrong with any of that. I have a need to read and try to do so as much as possible. Although I do love to cook, bake, and play in the garden.

Thanks, he was a good cat. Haha! Poor Squirrel, let them know this won't last. :)

Man, I can't even imagine. It's been unseasonably warm here, although not actually warm. Temps in the 60's in January? There is something not right about any of this.

here's a snippet of what I'm working on...where I used the prompt :-)

Curled up upon the family room hearth, the triplets dosing around her, she cradled the open book against her chest and stared at the fire, dreaming away the winter chill, dreaming of a day when family conflict would cease and harmony would settle once more. Tigh Ard had been wrapped in an uneasy calm, the extreme cold confining everyone indoors more then they liked which caused prickling, bubbling, and fraying at the seams, but it was not peace. It was not harmony. It felt more like the calm before the storm.

When that storm came, she knew she was going to be at the center of it. It seemed she always was, in one way or another.

I’m bored and looking for inspiration.

Using the quote, sorta, and the gif...
