Say What Friday

Hello all.

I'm baaacckk.....

Sorry for missing last week. Had phone issues.

This week's offering is weather and seasonal appropriate.

"Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow..."

It snowed here in Southeast Texas, which is rare and amusing.

Do with it what you will.

I have family in San Antonio and my cousin was live-Facebooking the snow and thunder. It was kind of a hoot! :D

Your family sounds like me when it snows here (which is pretty rare). My parents are from Illinois, my in-laws are from Indiana. They both thought I'd lost my mind.

LOL My family is scattered, but both sets of grandfathers worked for AT&T, so both parents moved all the time. The strangest weather, honestly, has been since we've been in Florida.

I bet! I've heard from others that the weather in Florida can be a bit bizarre at times. It's one of the reasons I like Nevada - it might be hot and dry, but you know what you're in for on any given day (mostly)!

YES. and the lack of humidity. I miss that.

YES! There's a big joke about 'but it's a DRY heat!' and I never got it until I moved to Houston when I was 14. As much as I loved Texas, I hated the humidity.

Did the world stop for the white stuff?

One of my first RD fics fits this theme. When Hell Freezes Over. It's insane how much Andy has changed (especially his voice, wow) and yet, Zayne's remained the same.

I'm going to try and do something new for this, too, since I'm freezing my tush off this morning.

Just one or two school closings and a few delays. I think those were due to the temps being so low and not the slushy white stuff.

That's good though - minor stuff. I know that the last time it snowed here and we got something that stuck, they called a snow day the next day, although the snow was mostly gone. Just because they could, no doubt.

So... I've not been very productive in regards to the things that matter today but *shrugs*

As long as payroll and some invoicing got done, you were productive enough for the week.

Yes - payroll is always the most important part of the week! And I paid our suppliers so we're good for another month. :D

fit this prompt into part of today's rp stuff...the whole theme of it being contained in the first line.
It won't all fit here, but here's an excerpt:

And there was snow on Christmas Day.

He did not remember snow from his time in the Program. He remembered sticky humidity, he remembered torrential rain, he remembered insects as big as his hand.

Or maybe that had been in his head.

He did not remember snow from his time in the service. He remembered suffocating heat, he remembered the blinding sun, he remembered sand. Always sand.

And he remembered bombs and bullets.

Not in his head those. Men had died around him. Good men. Men with families and futures. Men nothing like David.

Who, by some miracle or other, had not died.

He remembered death…and living…

But never snow.

Now it snowed on Christmas Day.
