Advent Day 4: The Good Place

At first my jury was out on "The Good Place."  Then, somewhere around episode four of thirteen it hooked me and .... I won't say how many times I've rewatched the first season but it's a lot. Can't wait for it to be back in January, and so glad it got a Season 3 pickup already.  And it's also nice to find a comedy I can enjoy, because for me the format doesn't lend itself to shipping, lol. The writers can't let you down if you don't much care what direction they go in that regard!

Awesome icons! I haven't watched this show yet, but have been curious about it. I'm guessing this is one more I need to add to my list now!

Thank you! It's really pretty funny if it hooks you. The humor ranges from wry to dry to slapstick. And mostly I just kind of adore the characters.

Ted Danson, wow - he's pretty versatile. I never once think 'Cheers' watching this. Of course, it's been a while since then.... but also I find the same thing with his other shows- he really seems to inhabit the characters he plays very well. It's like a few other actors- Jimmy Stewart or Tom Hanks - they manage to disappear into eacj role somehow.

Sounds like my kind of show!

I love Ted Danson, have essentially grown up with him on TV. He can definitely be versatile when he wants to be. Oh, Tom Hanks is another - I remember loving him in Bosom Buddies back in the 80's and it's amazing how far he's come since then.

I meant to check Netflix this morning and got sucked into Midsomer Murders instead. I love that dorky show. <3

ETA: It's on Netflix and I've added it to my list. Will watch when I'm done with Misdomer Murders (this season anyway... I'm on like season 2 of 22 or something).

Gorgeous icons! I may need to give it a go. So many shows, so little time! ;-)

Thank you! I think you'd get a laugh from it. And the nice thing is that it's only @22 min per epi, so... it goes by quickly.

I JUST watched this. Just finished season 1 over the weekend and LOVE THIS FORKING SHOW! Oh MAN! And you are right, I don't care what direction it goes in, I just anxiously wait for it to go!

Awesome work!

Eeee! You love it, too? Isn't it fun? Did it take a couple of epis to catch you? It did for me, and then whoosh ... I was watching them one after the other. Then I watched them all again, lol.

And 'forking' is a true gift of a word. Ha. And 'bench,' too. :)

I love shirt too. And ash hole. But when she says Mother Forker I just laugh and laugh!

It is so good. I was dreading when Ted came onto CSI, but then he was incredible. So I figured he'd be good in this, and I do see his CSI character, but that may just be the hair, but he is SO GOOD IN THIS!

I had to watch it on disc, and was upset that I had to wait a whole day for the next disc to arrive!

Haha - yes, 'ash hole.' I am bummed they started it in the fall and now it's been off for a bit and not back 'til January, but... January's certainly on the way.
