Awesome Monday

Hello all!!

Welcome to another Monday.

It's sunny and mildly warm in my corner of Southeast Texas.

My Steelers beat the pants of their main rival the Cleveland Browns, so all is good in my world. :)

So tell me what are your plans for being awesome this week.

Me, I'm planning to get back to my new eating plan, get my flu shot and get some words written down.

P.S. Don't forget this month's challenge is to kick ass on all of our wips. We can do this.

Hurricanes are exhausting.

I've never been through one so I can't even imagine. Keep yourself safe and dry!

We're all good. :)

So happy to hear it!

Yes, they are. Hoping you are safe and relatively dry.

Been thinking about you two. *hugs*

Yay! Another Steelers fan!! I don't watch much football, but I always keep up with the Steelers. With 3 brothers and a dad who were all football fanatics, it was natural to pick a team to root for. One brother and my dad were Redskin fans. One was a Miami fan, one was a Rams fan. And some I picked the Steelers (probably because I'm a Pennsylvania girl)

My WIP...I think it thought it would kick MY ass instead of the other way around. I thought I had the editing all done on Saturday. Quite proud of myself.
Then I woke up Sunday with an unexpected idea to streamline the two climactic events in the story into one scene. I had no issue with the previous two scenes, only with the gap between them (and the fact that the first felt a little too convenient for my MC)
So now I have to rewrite three whole scenes and make minor adjustments to others to reflect these changes...
So it's not done after all, lol
That filled six hours of my Sunday, one hour this morning, and I've still one more scene to rewrite. Then comes all the editing for all of that so that it all flows seamlessly with the old stuff.
The frustration aside, I feel positive about the changes, feel that it makes more sense (tortures my MC a little more, lol), and removes a 'dead space' that I wasn't entirely comfortable with.

Your family sounds like mine except they are all baseball fans with minors in football and college basketball. :D

Ugh, don't you hate it when your mind/muse does that to you? But you made a lot of progress so that's always a good thing! Have fun with the new scene and making it all work.

Its especially ironic for me cause I'd just finished telling someone how I don't normally have to go in and cut sections since I usually am pretty methodical about getting the order of things down right the first time...which slows the writing process but means fewer overhauls later (except for minor editing/polishing)

Muses were like 'haha, you think so!' lmao.

Funny because I think I remember seeing that comment. You jinxed yourself!

Been a Steelers fan since I was six. I love Pittsburgh teams since I grew up two hours away from the city and that's where we got our news from all the time.

Good luck with your wip.

Hooray for warm and sunny!

Congrats on the win! Being an Illinois girl at heart and having grown up loving the Bears and the Cubs, I tend to not talk sports because my teams always suck. :D So much so that I cried when the Cubs won the World Series last year.

Good luck with the eating plan! Changing the way we eat is one of the hardest things we can do. Have fun with the flu shot and GO FOR ALL THE WORDS!

I have my WIP opened on my desktop, but haven't had a chance to get into it yet. But there shall be words before long.

Yes, we are liking the sunny weather and can thank Irma for hogging all the moisture and thus keeping the humidity down.

Chicago teams aren't always so bad. They bust their asses when they play, therefore their fans aren't completely disappointed when they lose. Don't like teams that just phone in their games, if you know what I mean.

It is, and I've fallen off the wagon a few times. But, with this plan I can always start again the next day and I don't beat myself up so much for screwing up, which it has made it easier getting rid of all of the junk I use to eat.

You'll get that wip conquered because I need something to read. No pressure, right....lol

Little blessings, eh?

I totally get what you mean. If they play hard and still suck, that's one thing. But get out there and play like you mean it!

You and me both. A flexible plan - and a flexible attitude - are exactly what you need, honestly. When they're too strict you tend to give up. Just remember - baby steps - you can do this!

Heh. Thanks. :) I've been too scatterbrained lately and am having a hard time focusing on anything. But, I know I'll get it done for the September twist challenge.

I finally, FINALLY, read through my WIP and cannot remember what is next. I'm hoping to get significant words on it today/tomorrow, and it is not too far from finished. So I'm feeling reasonably good about that.

I'm still self pitching things for the twist. We'll see where that goes. Although that would actually work with another step in my WIP.

YAY for sunny and dry!!!!
Sep. 11th, 2017 08:29 pm (UTC)

You got this.

Sunny and dry is very nice. I don't want to see any rain for awhile.

Yay for your Steelers. I married into a Steeler family and he got to my kids to make them fans before I could stop him. My Cowboys beat the Giants last night so I'm good. Would have been better if the Eagles had lost but it's okay. And I've been talking to an old friend again (after 23 years) so I told him I was sorry for his Browns but he said he wasn't because they suck! LOL And PSU won! And my high school team won! And Ohio State lost. It was a pretty good football weekend for me!

My Mom is going to be coming home on Friday after being in the rehab/nursing home after being there a couple of months so that's great! :D And maybe I'll be on more of a schedule and I might even be able to write a little bit more since I won't be traveling an hour there and back every day. I also won't have to eat supper between 7 and 10 anymore either so I can lose weight! :D
I'm planning on figuring out some sort of schedule so I can know when I'll be able to write in November so I'll hit my word count again for NaNoWriMo. I also need to figure out what I'm writing which is probably more important than a schedule! LOL I figure the earlier I figure it out, the better.
And now I must go because I need to pack up before they close the library! :D

Glad the Cowboys won.

Happy to hear that your mom is coming home.

Good luck with the schedule, finding something to write for NaNo and the eating plan.

*sobs about the Indianapolis Colts* Yeah so American football is fine. At least my regular football ('soccer') team is 7th in our league so that is going really well.

My current WIP is a giant epic that has been all planned but because it is set over such a long period of time I am writing it in patches. It's just a matter of getting on with it now
Sep. 12th, 2017 04:31 pm (UTC)
Sorry about the Colts. Yay for your footie team. Good luck with your epic.
