NaNoWriMo 2021! Day 21/Day 5

Advice: Always end a writing session only when you know what’s next. Not only will this make it easier to pick up where you’ve left off, it can provide incentive and excitement to dive back in. If you’re afraid you will forget your train of thought, make a short note in the doc about what comes next (such as MC’s argument with X)…
and then leave that note in to be edited out later. Hey…its words!
Then you’ll sit down for your next session and already know what lies ahead.

Prompt: Start by describing (in as much detail as possible) a setting that is filled with danger at every turn. But standing right in the middle of it, is the person you would least expect to be there.
