Weekend Challenge: Even more Film Noir!

Guess what kids, I’m in charge of the Weekend Challenge on this first weekend of September and I decided we needed yet another round of quotes from detective/ film noir movies/books-WOO HOO!!

Just as a reminder, film noir is filled with hard-boiled dialogue which is the literary equivalent of a quick punch to the gut.  Here’s an example:  “You ever cross me again, or look like it, I’ll bury you. Now beat it.”

These hard-boiled lines come from the mind of tough-guy private investigator Philip Marlowe, which is to say from author Raymond Chandler.  The characters in film noir are all morally gray and you're never sure if the hero isn’t actually the villain or that the villain might turn out to be right in the end.

Now if you want to go along for this ride, load your gat, put on your gumshoes and trench coat , and join me in the drizzly, treacherous world of noir.  Just choose a number between 1 and 35 and I will give you a famous film noir line.  For example:  “"She tried to sit in my lap while I was still standing.”

See what I mean by a punch to the gut :):)   I hope this craziness inspires you, so please be as creative as you can--drabbles/fics can be as long as you want but at least 200 words and you can do any sort of art work the spirit moves you    Just post your work by Thursday night at 11:59pm EST, and you'll be golden.  Lastly, HAVE FUN!!!
