Thursday Tropes: 2021 Edition

It's been a minute, hasn't it? Well, we're back...and maybe slightly different?

thursday tropes new 1 banner

This time around...A. FULL. YEAR. OF. TROPES!

Some Thursdays will have 2 tropes, some will have 3, but I think the majority will have 1 that's really popular.

Descriptions will be pulled from TV Tropes and a link provided if you want more information.

The rules? They're simple. Write at least 250 words or create 2 icons/1 banner. Anything from suggestive to outright porn is allowed.

This week, as a kick-off, there are 3 tropes! I don't think I've seen too many pieces from these tropes, so I hope they spark something with you!

A Town with a Dark Secret: Everybody in a small town is in on a secret. A terrible secret that nobody outside the town must know. The visiting protagonist slowly begins to suspect that something is wrong.

You Remind Me of X: Old and often used stock phrase with several different variations. (self-explanatory, right?)

Villains: The bad guys. The mad scientists, the cruel executives, the evil witches and wizards, the corrupt politicians, the mortal aspects of pure evil, and, more often than not, the people (or otherwise) that instigate the conflict and the story.

Finally, can I have a few names to start the Weekend Challenge roster? Is anyone up to do this weekend coming and /or next, please? Please add to the comment thread I've started for this. Everyone else, discuss or comment in as many threads as needed! Thanks! ;-)
