It's a new year, with that comes resolutions, and I was gently reminded that one of the best way to reach my writing goals for the year would be to hold some word sprints. So if you're looking to jump start your production for 2021 or have some prompts or a WIP you want to work on, join me today between 12:30-2pm CST for a series of timed writings.
For the uninitiated, a word sprint is a timed writing of anywhere from 10-25 minutes when you try to write as many words as possible before the time runs out. Check in here and then there will be starting and ending posts for each segment. At the end of the segment, you'll post your word count and we'll cheer you on. You can look at it as a bit of a friendly competition or otherwise like a game of golf (where, I'm told you "play against yourself" and try to improve). You can join in for the full session or if you're limited on time, maybe just a round or two.
Today was a fairly productive day. I did laundry, made a salad for the family dinner, wrote an intro post for the Snowflake Challenge over at DW, and completed 5 different pieces of writing for a total of 1081 words. (The word sprints for today really paid off.)
Passing the torch to backrose_17. Wishing you abundant creativity in the day ahead! Happy writing!
