Say What Friday

Hola peeps!

We have survived another week. Yay us!!

How goes the writing/imaging? Not doing so good, there is still plenty of month left.

Normally, I scrounge up a quote to provide inspiration, but this week is a bust. So, I'm going call this week Revisit Past Quotes. Find an old quote or one you saved for later and use it for this week.

Remember Bingo ends on the 7th and this month's challenge is original fiction.

Go forth and be creative.

Weekend Challenge: Spooky Short Stories

Alright my dears, I am in charge of the Weekend Challenge for this first gorgeous weekend in October and I decided we needed an early Halloween, so I will be handing out quotes from spooky short stories--WOO HOO!!

The quotes will be from the spookiest stories around:  the short stories of Edgar Allan Poe and H.P. Lovecraft.

Choose a number between 1 and 13 and I will give you the title of the short story and a random line from the story--please keep in mind, that the quote could be scary, horrifying or supernatural or a combination of all three.  ETA:  I have several random quotes from each short story, so five people can choose #12 and I will have a different prompt for each person.

I hope this terrifying craziness inspires you, so please be as creative as you can--drabbles/fics can be as long as you want but at least 200 words and you can do any sort of art work the spirit moves you    Just post your work by Thursday night at 11:59pm EST, and you'll be golden.  Lastly, HAVE FUN!!!

I am not creative in any way with artwork, so if you want an icon, I will have to ask for help, but I can give you a drabble or add to my WIP.

Writing challenge: LJ Idol

Hi, everyone!

This is a little late notice, but for anyone who might be interested, I wanted to let you know about a super fun writing challenge that is starting up. It's called LJ Idol, and basically you get a prompt and have about a week to write something that fits that prompt (fiction, non-fiction, poetry. Last time there was a guy who wrote songs) and then there is voting for about another week, with a few eliminations per week until one person is left standing at the end.

I did it the last season it ran, and it was both really fun and really nerve-wracking, but I liked that it challenged me to get outside my comfort zone and also to post stuff for other people to read.

So if anyone is interested, signups are open until 7p EST tonight (Friday)! (The first topic is also due tonight, but everyone gets two 'free' weeks where you can not enter and still play, so you can sign up without writing something.)

It is being held on Dreamwidth this year, but you can sign up with your LJ account via OpenID and post your entries to LJ as well.

And if you are not interested in participating, if you all want to read the entries each week and vote (hopefully for me), that would be awesome as well :)

Let me know if anyone has questions!
