NaNoWriMo and Mini_WriMo checkin

Trying to be good to remember to post these before I leave for work in the mornings to include those in the earliest timezones...

So we're a few days in and our first weekend is upon us. I plan on banking some words this weekend for those days when I'm just not motivated to write.

So with that in mind,

Word Wars (Handy time converter):

Friday afternoon starting at 4:30 Pacific (11:30 PM UTC)
Saturday morning starting at 6:00 AM Pacific (1:00 PM UTC)
Sunday morning starting at 10:00 AM Pacific (6:00 PM UTC)

How do these times work for folks? Is there a better time on Sunday? Saturday morning is my preferred time so that one stays :D I'd be willing to do multiple sessions on Sat/Sun if there was a particular time someone needed, the only caveat is I need to leave hubby some computer time to work on his own NaNoWriMo project.

Reading all your comment/checkins we are off to a roaring start - Good luck today and I'll see some of the word warriors this afternoon :D

Fandom Squee Day 3: Star Wars

Happy Friday! I have a very busy day but happy to take some time out to rave about another fandom I love:

Star Wars
And this isn't just the Force Awakens, all Star Wars (even the stuff Disney says isn't canon).

(I love this gif so much)
Firstly: The Original Trilogy

Way ahead of it's time and still (in my opinion) the best set of classic films ever. They dared to create a world in other space with bad cgi and weird aliens. Han Solo has to be my favourite character but (for you who know me well) I love that type of character, the loveable rogue who doesn't care what anyone thinks of him and it all out for himself until he meets the protagonist.

Next: The Prequels

Unpopular opinion alert - I love the prequels! Now yes the plot and acting wasn't great but I love them. They were my first introduction to Star Wars and to be honest I like them more than the orginals. I loved Ewan McGregor as Obi Wan Kenobi (still waiting on a solo film) and Hayden gets so much flack for what was bad writing!

Finally: The Force Awakens

I love this film so much. So much, saw it opening night and have not stopped raving about it since. Poe is my favourite character and I can't wait to see more of him in the next one :) Plus BB-8 is the cutest little droid ever! The plot balanced the aspects of the old with introducing the new characters and Luke got to be melodramtic just like the good old days!

So what does everyone think?

Time for Friday Word Wars ...

I'll follow my usual pattern of creating a new comment to start/stop rounds.

Round 1: 4:30 PM PDT (11:30 PM UTC) to 4:55 PM PDT (11:55 UTC)
Round 2: 5:05 PM PDT (00:05 AM UTC) to 5:30 PM PDT (00:30 UTC)
Round 3: 5:40 PM PDT (00:40 AM UTC) to 6:05 PM PDT (01:05 UTC)
Round 4: 6:15 PM PDT (01:15 AM UTC) to 6:40 PM PDT (01:40 UTC)

So what is everyone working on today/tonight? The big NaNo, mini_wrimo - some other non-nano related project?

I passed 5500 words last night - so approximately on pace with the 1667 per day.
