Alright cats and kittens, I am in charge of the Weekend Challenge this second weekend in March and mine is inspired by classic film noir movies--WOO HOO!!

Just in case you don’t know, film noir movies are filled with hard-boiled dialogue which is the literary equivalent of a quick punch to the gut.  Here’s an example:  “You ever cross me again, or look like it, I’ll bury you. Now beat it.” These hard-boiled lines come from the mind of tough-guy P.I. Philip Marlowe, which is to say from author Raymond Chandler.  The characters in film noir are all morally gray and you're never sure if the hero isn’t actually the villain or that the villain might turn out to be right in the end.

Now if you want to go along for this ride, load your gat, don your trench coat, and join me in the drizzly, treacherous world of noir.

Choose a number between 1 and 40 and I will give you a famous film noir line.  For example:  “"Nice dame. Awfully cold around the heart.”

See what I mean by a punch to the gut :):)   I hope this craziness inspires you, so please be as creative as you can--drabbles/fics can be as long as you want but at least 200 words and you can do any sort of art work the spirit moves you    Just post your work by Sunday night at 11:59pm EST, and you'll be golden.  Lastly, HAVE FUN!!!

I am not creative in any way with artwork, so if you want an icon, I will have to ask for help, but I can give you a drabble or add to my WIP.
My fandoms are: RDJ's Sherlock Holmes, BBC Sherlock, Elementary, Supergirl, The Flash, Supernatural, Hawaii Five-0, Pretty Little Liars, Fringe, Once Upon A Time, Alias, Hannibal, Veronica Mars, Smallville, Buffy and Angel, The X-Files, Twin Peaks X-Men First Class and Star Trek 2009 Reboot movies)

Cool idea! #23, please!

I'm glad you like it :):)

23. “From 30 feet away she looked like a lot of class. From 10 feet away she looked like something made up to be seen from 30 feet away.”

Could I ask for one more, please? I don't write many female characters in fandom and I don't want to write anything negative about the few I do. Not even Steve's ex, lol......not in Y2K17.

Not a problem :)

5. "On your way, dreamboat. Make with the feet."

I got a bunny for this for one of my OTPs, but it would have been a long story again - 1,500 words, maybe, and ....I can't now, too many WIPs! So... have an extended drabble of the McDanno variety. :)

Thanks - and I'd love a BBC Sherlock drabble of any sort - gen or romantic JohnLock or even them making Mycroft roll his eyes. Whatever inspires. :)

The list of ways in which Steve annoyed Danny was long - everyone knew that, because he told them about them - loudly and often.

Some of the ways were potentially life-threatening, and so deserved their place at the top of the list: Steve's utter inability to listen to caution when a clock was ticking, his stubbornness, his love of things that go boom. Others were more everyday annoyances, but that didn't meant they weren't.....really, really annoying.

"On your way, dreamboat," Danny growled, nudging Steve away from the coffee pot with a hip. "Make with the feet."

"What the hell, buddy," Steve moved, but awkwardly, almost stumbling, barely catching it when his cup wobbled and he nearly spilled some of it on the floor. "How about you just ask me, nicely, to move it? You have to hip check me?"

"Yeah, I have to hip check you - because you're kinda clueless and a daydreamer, sometimes. And for whatever reason... you seem to go very deeply dreamy right after you get your first cup of coffee in your hands and then you stand here like a big lug and block the rest of us from the pot. Like...every other day, you do that. There's not much room between the coffee stand and the computer table as it is, and with your big, hot ass right in the way...."

"Boys, boys...." Kono yawned from the other side of the computer table, flicking through photos and maps just in from HPD. "It's early. It's only Monday. Do you have to add insult to injury by starting things off with a fight?"

"I'm just saying," Steve gestured over at her and back to Danny. "He could have asked. Nicely. Couldn't he? And I absolutely would have moved. There was no need for getting pissy, or 'make with the feet,' was there?"

"That's the part that's bothering you?" Chin asked from the far end of the table. "I would have thought you might have keyed in on the 'dreamboat' part a little more."

"Danny called Steve a dreamboat," Kono sing-songed.

It only got her an eye roll from both of them.

"It's a line from a book," Danny pointed out. "A perfectly respectable tough-guy book, so...shut up."

"I might also point out," Chin was unswayed. "That you called him dreamy and said he had a hot ass. Just saying. "

"Oh...for cripe's sake...." Danny was out of there, on his way to his office, still with no coffee in hand and that stung, maybe, most of all. "I don't like any of you today."

"Yeah, you do, D...." Steve was right behind him, tossing Chin a wink and a nod as he left. "Chin says so. You like me. You like my hot ass, Danno. You think I'm...."

"Shut up, shut up....shut up..." was the last they heard from down the hall.

"Do you think they're ever figuring this out?" Chin asked Kono,

"I don't know," She shrugged. "There was a time I thought they might, but... damn. We're dealing with deep, deep rivers of denial."

"Maybe we tie 'em up in the interrogation room and work them over like a couple of suspects...." Chin enjoyed the deeply amused, slightly evil laugh that got out of her. "...make 'em talk."

"I like it," she went to get some coffee, herself. "Hold that though, Cuz...the day may have to come...."

Excellent use of the prompt, particularly Danny saying it to Steve--perefection :)

And I will work on your Johnlock drabble, fear not :)

Yay, thank you! :). I do like some JohnLock.

Here is your reward, a 405 BBC Sherlock drabble:

The Jelly Bean Scheme

Sorry it's so late :)

No problem - always happy to read and enjoy a reward, whenever it arrives. Love it! Love the idea of Sherlock doting on her, but ...Mycroft? That's great. His glacialness in the thrall of a toddler, love it. :)

I'm glad you liked this and I think even Mycroft was surprised at how much he loves Rosie :)
