NaNoWriMo and Mini_WriMo checkin

For those that celebrated Thanksgiving yesterday - have you recovered?

I know some folks are still wrapped up in holiday/shopping things, but we are down to the last 5 days of NaNo and mini_wrimo.

How's everyone doing? Are you on track to finish by Weds? Will you be making a big push on your projects this weekend?

I was feeling a little bogged down, so I went ahead and wrote the ending - it's not perfect but at least there's the skeleton of resolultion in place.

I have mixed feelings about this year's project, which is why I'll let it set for a few months before trying to revise. How about you? Will you be as happy as I am to put this year's NaNo behind you?

Chime in and let us know how you're faring.

Write all the words (plus one more for kaige68)

Six days. SIX DAYS COUNTING TODAY. SIXXXXXXX. WE NEED ALL THE DAYS WE CAN GET.

I'm just under 44K. My goal is to get a minimum of 2 chapters (plus the one I'm currently working on) finished this weekend. That'll still leave me with 3 chapters for next week, which will be tight because I'm going to lose at LEAST one day (have to leave my apartment for the day) if not two. Oh who I am kidding, it's impossible.

BUT. If I reach 50K by November 30th it's still a win, even if I have to finish the story at the beginning of December. Esp. since I'm posting it as I go.

I have never actually finished a story for NaNo...I get the word count in, but the stories always run over that (by alot lol)

made 88k yesterday...expect to pass 90 today.
The story's going well this far...trying to up the tension between two of my MCs...but they've had limited contact so far so...

I need to get this story finished (since it has been a year of finishing projects) Then I have to decide which one to tackle next...the second part of this story...or part 2 of one of my other series...or get back to the main series and sort out the next book.

You've got this!! And congrats on breaking 90k!

I tend to let my NaNo projects sit for awhile after November and focus on shorter pieces to clear my head. So cool that you can stay focused on the novel length works year round.

I always let projects sit between drafts/edits...although I do have ones that are incomplete that just sit there. I hate that.

I'd like to get my other few 'completed' projects through their final edit this year...and have 4 new ones (all sequels) that I can start...so we'll see how the new year will shape up.

I'm at 21,474 words over several projects.

I think I made my actual NaNo story more complicated than it needed to be and since I decided at the last minute I didn't get as much prep as I would have liked. Maybe next year I can dive back into it since I've got more notes on the world I've built for it.

I've had that happen a few times in past NaNo's. I've been struggling a bit with this year's project, but I think I will be able to finish.

21,474 words is still AWESOME and you have a few more days left in the month to add to that total.

YOU ROCK!

Of the 8 years that I've had my NaNo account this is the second time I've participated.

If I remember correctly, I didn't finish the first time, but got a lot closer than I did this time.
