Summary: Reid muses within a vacant office.
Reid sat in the office that was still vacant. He hoped it would never be filled, but he knew that wasn't logical. Or reasonable.
His heart still hurt at the fact that he would walk by throughout the day and not see the familiar face.
He knew Morgan did what he had to do. For him, it was the right time to leave, and he did it for the right reasons. Savannah and baby Hank needed Morgan, and now Morgan could be the husband and father that he wanted to be, without constantly putting his life in danger, or endangering those he loved.
Still, Morgan had hit the nail on the head when he remarked about how Reid hated changed. He always thought that when things changed, he would lose something vital. He never saw change as a good thing because it usually involved him being left behind.
He had been forced to say goodbye to way too many teammates. With some of them, he hadn't even had a chance to say goodbye before they left.
And now Morgan was gone as well.
Reid knew he would still see Morgan, but it wouldn't be the same. With the job, it was hard to see non-team people. And Morgan had his own responsibilities as well.
He sighed, wondering what Morgan was doing right then.
As if his thoughts were heard by the object of them, his phone beeped. He took it out and looked at the screen and saw he had a text message. He opened it.
Hey, Pretty Boy.
Not on a case? If you're home, want to come over for dinner? Savannah is making lasagna.
Reid smiled and the vice around his heart seemed to loosen almost instantly. He wasn't being forgotten and suddenly, the vacant office didn't feel as oppressing.
He quickly typed in a reply.
Be over in an hour or so.
He quickly stood up. He walked out of the office and over to his desk. He'd straighten it up and then leave. He had plans to see his best friend, and he couldn't wait to get there.
