Update your numbers!

Hey everyone, I am counting up later today (sorry, haven't had time yet!) so this is your 12 hour warning to update your numbers! Get those last August counts in and update! I haven't got the link just now, but it's at the top left of the comm's main page, so get thee to a nunnery to your numbers! :D

I just know August is gonna be AWESOME, numbers-wise!

OMG, I updated my numbers in a panic at like 4 AM because I forgot yesterday. Hahaha... *sigh* :)

True! Unlike my hubby who woke up this morning at 4.59 to an earthquake! Don't worry though, it was offshore (although 7.2 on the Richter scale!!!) so there was no damage inland, but a lot of NZers felt it - even here in Auckland where we don't usually! (and yes, I was fast asleep!)

OMG, that's still scary! I don't know how much you know about the US, but we're close enough to southern California to experience the aftershocks of their earthquakes.

My now-husband once slept through a series of aftershocks that were strong enough to shake the water filling his waterbed when we were teens. :)

(I just Googled this quake and it's very, very odd to see 'early Friday' when it's only Thursday afternoon... Hah!)

True, although as we don't get many quakes in Auckland it's kind of hard to feel nervous... however the rest of NZ is very prone as we sit on the eadge of two techtonic plates. So yeah, we've had lots of quite serious ones over the years. Christchurch is still recovering from the big 2011 one!

Ha! Your husband and I are obviously similar in the whole sleep-through-it stakes!

(I do love the timezones! When we go to Hawaii in ELEVEN days, we arrive there before we leave home! I love me some time-travel!)

That's what I was reading! And you know it was a big one if you guys felt it so strongly. The San Andreas Fault runs through part of California, so they have a similar issue. It's horrible how destructive they can be.

ROFL - I joke with him about being able to sleep through and earthquake!

I can't believe it's so close! And I remember thinking about that, too. You'll have to tell me if you feel weird or anything fun once you've done your time travel. :D
