Rainy Days and Mondays: Doesn't anybody stay in one place anymore?

I was sifting through some ideas for this week and nothing was hitting....until a song suddenly jumped to mind. So this week - sonfic prompt!

Your challenge, should you choose to accept it is: You're So Far Away

Write us a fic about lovers separated by distance- literal or figurative. Maybe one's away on assignment, or off saving the galaxy. Or maybe they're right down the block but so immersed in their own work/life/canon family dramas that they have no time for anyone or anything else.

How does your character who is suffering the consequences deal with it? Phone call? Plane ticket? A knock on their door to say 'make time for us?'

It's all up to you from here- how it goes, how it ends, whether joy is found or sorrow is faced.

Good luck!  Here are the full lyrics in case that would help.

So Far Away
Carole King
YouTube video - hope it works for all
So far away
Doesn't anybody stay in one place anymore
It would be so fine to see your face at my door
Doesn't help to know you're just time away
Long ago I reached for you and there you stood
Holding you again could only do me good
Oh, how I wish I could
But you're so far away
One more song about moving along the highway
Can't say much of anything that's new
If I could only work this life out my way
I'd rather spend it being close to you
But you're so far away
Doesn't anybody stay in one place anymore
It would be so fine to see your face at my door
Doesn't help to know you're so far away
Traveling around sure gets me down and lonely
Nothing else to do but close my mind
I sure hope the road don't come to own me
There's so many dreams I've yet to find

But you're so far away....
