Hello there!

So to those of us in the US, today is Presidents' day. And some of us even have the day off, but am I making words? No. But happy Presidents' day to everyone!!!

Today is also the third day in a row that started with negative temperatures in my neck of the woods. That means pipes freeze and cars don't start. I went out and transported a couple of people yesterday, and today, the return pipe from my washing machine froze. So the thermostat is turned up and the washing machine is evacuating into my toilet. That is a trick I learned the last time the pipes froze. The perk is that despite the -2 the day started at, today will end closer to freezing and tomorrow will hit 51. And remember that it's Fahrenheit, while not as dramatic, it's still pretty huge. No worry of freezing pipes tomorrow. I am lucky.

So what are you all up to today? Have you made fabulous creations? Do you have big plans to be creative this week? What did you create last week? How are you doing on your bingo? I want to know!!!

Toasty hugs to you all!

Florida isn't cold this week, but it's been looking like it will start raining any second, for the last few hours.

I am currently at work, listening to Hamilton for the 10BILLIONTH time. #Gram4Ham

Holy guacamole, that's cold. And I'm sorry about your pipes. That's a huge temp jump though and I'm happy for you. 51 feels like freezing to me, but when you've been in the negatives it's like 90. I'm even happier to report that we here in the desert southwest are well on our way to a 76º high.

Since the kids didn't have school, I did manage a little over 500 words before work this morning (construction sucks, I get like NO holidays) and have added another 100 or so since then. So close to my daily goal.

Last week, I did some writing, finished my weekend challenge and a Thursday Trope (I think). Also made two rather crappy wallpapers, but eh. I am floundering with my bingo, but I'll figure it out. I always do. :)

Like I said, no bursting, which means we caught the freezes early enough. And yeah, the difference between too cold to start your car and 51 is MASSIVE! 76 sound like heaven!

YOU DID WORDS!!! WOOHOO!!! The bingo will arrive, I'm sure! YOU CAN DO THIS!
Feb. 16th, 2016 03:58 pm (UTC)
No broken pipes is a beautiful thing! I know it - I bet you're loving that 51 right now! Hahaha... 76 is heaven for someone who hates to be cold as much as I do. :D

I DID! I managed 3k words yesterday! Which is massive for me. And I think I figured out how to work the bingo, too! WOOHOO and THANK YOU! :D

*quickly googles Fahrenheit to Celsius* Ouch that's cold! It's been all frosty here and snowing back home but nowhere near that low!

No writing done here today but I have finished taking notes on another chapter of my textbook and been swimming for the first time since my foot op so a pretty productive day. I'm hoping to get some words out before I go to bed as I have a really busy day with my course representative meeting and meeting the boss for my volunteering for lunch! The life of a first year uni student! Even my no lecture days are filled with responsibilities!
Feb. 16th, 2016 03:21 pm (UTC)
That's a hugely productive day! And yay you, for a hugely productive semester!

I have been a giant slacker. NO WORDS at all this month, so I need to jump on that this week.

On the other hand, TV shows are startng up for the autumn season here and then I'm also catching up on some online I haven't got to yet, so I have watched a ton of TV lately and feel reasonably caught up with shows like Cuffs (5 eps in, unfortunately there's only 8 all up, which is sad for a great British cop show that should have been continued.); Hemlock Grove (S2 all done!), Shadowhunters (while nowhere near as good as the book or movie, still somewhat addictive - read: there's a HOT guy playing Alec - so I'm 4 or 5 eps in on that; The Blacklist, The Flash, Arrow, X-Files, and new HTGAWM is on tonight!

OK, I have been sitting in front of my TV and/or computer far too much lately...

I have also managed to visit my sister & hubby, do some shopping and a bunch of housework, and read most of another book (The Fate of Ten by Pittacus Lore - reminds me I need to update Goodreads), so there have been other things going on.

Sadly, I've neglected the comm and LJ much this week or so, so I must get back on board!

in other news: LOVE YOU! Hope the weather warms up as indicated! No one needs frozen pipes!
Feb. 16th, 2016 03:24 pm (UTC)
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I haven't seen shadowhunters! DAMMIT! Hot Alec would be lovely!

You've been nice and productive! Now go word! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORD!
Feb. 16th, 2016 11:10 pm (UTC)
Well, they've changed it a lot, but the Alec is SO PRETTY. Magnus is not quite as good as the film one (this one's played by Harry Shum Jr from Glee) but he's OK. It's not brilliant TV, but you know me; I'm a sucker for a pretty boy. ;-P

Wording will happen and soon! :-)
Feb. 17th, 2016 02:08 am (UTC)
Okay, I just looked up a picture of them. In my head, at least, Magnus is WAY bigger than Alec. Tall, scrawny, but tall. The look wrong together. Still, I'll need to watch it!
Feb. 17th, 2016 08:45 am (UTC)
Yeah, I can imagine when you have something in your head, it's weird to see something different! I've only seen a few eps so far and they've only had a little interaction so far, so we'll see how it goes!
Feb. 17th, 2016 10:35 am (UTC)
Well, that's a shame. It's not like there are other characters or something! ;)
Feb. 17th, 2016 08:04 pm (UTC)
Other characters? What other characters? (although as Alec is in love with Jace, there's him...)
Feb. 17th, 2016 08:17 pm (UTC)
Jace is just a plot device to get Alec and Magnus together, not really a character. :D
Feb. 21st, 2016 04:00 am (UTC)
Ah, of course! Oh, and the last ep I watched the other day - NICE scenes with Magnus & Alec. Magnus made up an excuse to have Alec come over to 'help' with something. Mmmm.

yuck to frozen pipes! as i said in my DCC post, a stomachache kept me from getting very far so I hope to get a little bit in after I finish this astronomy homework. fingers crossed.
Feb. 16th, 2016 03:24 pm (UTC)
I hope you're feeling better soon!
Feb. 15th, 2016 11:34 pm (UTC)
Last week was the Week from Hell so not a lot of words written. But, I am planning to catch up this week on all things!
Feb. 16th, 2016 03:24 pm (UTC)
*fingers crossed for you*

I started a bingo fill on Saturday and it is running away from me, LOL. One other fic is ready to go off to beta (about 2500 words) and I managed a few icons this weekend.

We finally got out of the freezer today, but also got another dose of sleet and snow. I caved and got a practical pair of boots, because all the street corners will be lakes for a few days. Happily, I found warm, tall, good-griping boots on clearance for $21!

Had the day off and needed it - ran 8 miles on a treadmill yesterday for my half-marathon training effort, and damn I could not wake up this morning. I started out running @9 miles a week - this week the goal is 22! Race is on 3/20, fingers crossed my ankles and knees cooperate.

Wrote some fic this weekend, and really need to write a Pr0ny chapter tonight. Have had brain block on that one fic for a month. Once I write that, it's all about the bingo- and then I hope to have a solid week left to play with an interactive fic using Twine online. I've been working on a video for the opening page, and breaking down the ficlet that it's based on into bite-sized chunks.

And that's enough, I guess!
Feb. 16th, 2016 03:27 pm (UTC)

We got a couple of inches of snow, and then rain which makes for crusty snow. Eggs was funny going out today. Step/Crunch/Sink - Step/Crunch/Sink.

YAY FOR PRON AND RUNNING!!! I am so excited about your half-marathon!!! *fingers crossed for everything else*

*hugs* I have some of those windows too. :(

For the past four days here in PA, we had temps in the single digits and we let water drip out of the faucets over night to avoid the pipes freezing and now tomorrow's going to be 50 degrees--freaky February weather in the East coast :):)
Feb. 16th, 2016 03:29 pm (UTC)
Had the drip going in the kitchen and bath sinks, but there's nothing to do about the washer return. It's all good now that it's well above freezing! *hugs*
