'Go, Nano, Go' check-in and support

Hey everyone! Isn't craterdweller doing a fantastic job with Nano and mini-Nano check-ins! And all of you are doing so well at keeping those words going!

For our GNG people, now is your chance to check in with how you're doing - are you sticking to the goal you set yourself? Do things feel like they're flowing? What are you working on and what's next? Answer any of these questions or pose a few of your own; whatever you like - this post is open for discussion or to ask for help of any kind from a gentle 'hey, you're going good' right up to the proverbial kick in the butt! If you need help with a tricky plot point or you need assistance with some slang, grammar or points of speech; it's all good - we're here to help!

For the formal Nano and mini-Nanoers, you also can ask about or discuss anything to do with your writing too!

Oh, and I didn't manage to fit in a Word War yesterday, but I'll have a look at doing one tonight between 5-6pm NZDT if there's any interest (that's 4-5am UTC) so comment here if you want to join in. ;-)

And lastly, I would just like to add a general "YAY, YOU!" to everyone writing something! ;-)

if that is 8 pm pacific time I might be awake still :D

Well I managed 2063 today so on target with 7146 total words so far. Week one is usually fairly easy for me, it's during week 2 when I begin to worry if a) I won't have enough story left to make it to 50K and then have to start fleshing out previous chapters or b) I'm not far enough along in the plot and there's no way that I can wrap things up at 50K - there's no rule that a NaNo novel can't be longer, but standard NaNo thinking is that the novel should have a beginning, middle and end by Nov 30 - even if some chapters are *** INSERT STUFF HERE ***

Hey, I am SO SORRY, but I completely forgot when I got home tonight that I was going to look at doing a word war...

But it looks like you did okay without me! YAY, go you! I hope week two will be kind to you, but I;m around and about if you need encouragement or help - and maybe next week I will actually get into gear and do a word war! ;-)

Nice wordage for you!

I totally feel your pain. I have a hard enough time finding a beginning, middle, and end for a 3k word story. So 50-100k? Er, help? You can do it though. Just remember - you can always edit out the 'oh my god, what was I thinking' bits later. :D
