OMG! It's almost time for August Rush again! Are you guys ready? If you are new to this challenge, we've run it twice before and it's a lot of fun. If you need to know how it works, check out this post from last year to read all the rules.

In 2013 the five fandoms were: Avengers, Hawaii 5-0, NCIS, Star Trek AOS and Supernatural. In 2014 we did six fandoms: Agents of SHIELD, Almost Human, Harry Potter, Sherlock BBC, Stargate (all 'verses) and Star Trek - TNG.

For 2015 I'd like to aim for another five or six different fandoms, but I need your input for that! This post is open for you guys to throw up suggestions of fandoms you'd like to see in the challenge this year. I'm screening the comments so there will be some element of surprise in it, but once I've collected all your answers, I'll put up a poll and you will get to vote. The top five/six fandoms from the poll will be the ones in the challenge, as long as I'm able to get some good high-def pics to use.

So, if you have links to any high-def pics (like screencaps, etc) for the fandoms you suggest, then now is also the time to let me know. And if anyone is interested in helping run the challenge or to create some rewards, please let me know that too.

1. All comments are screened - you don't have to take part to suggest fandoms, but it probably helps!
2. We won't be covering any of the fandoms from previous years again unless there's an overwhelming demand for one.
3. August Rush features visual prompts, but this does not mean you have to create graphics; we love words too, so whatever the pics inspire for you - we think any creations are great!

Does Avengers only mean Avengers or the whole Marvel Cinematic Universe?

No, we only covered the Avengers movie last time, so other parts of the MCU are still able to be covered!

So, in a nutshell, 100 words a day or 500 a week or 2000 for the whole month. Got it.

Hmm, August is my Marvel Big Bang month, so I'm going to have to suggest something in the MCU...

Oh! A question. Are we allowed to use other MCU characters / references to AoS if they don't appear in this movie? Let's say the fandom is Cap 2: TWS. Can I talk about the aftermath with respect to the other characters who don't appear in this movie?

Another question: can we do crossovers/fusions? Say I nominate Sky High. The selling point of Sky High isn't the movie itself, but the fact that it is the only show to ever explore the idea of a superpowers high school. It is the perfect blank slate for all the non-mundane high school AUs you didn't know you needed in other fandoms. Would this be allowed?

You got it! ;-)

You are allowed to write anything that the still pictures suggest to you, no matter what characters that suggests to you, as long as the base story relates to the picture/fandom in question in some way. (I'm sorry, I don't know what AoS means, but the answer still works, I think)

And yes, crossovers/fusions are fine, once again, as long as it relates in some way to the picture/fandom you have chosen to write for. We're pretty relaxed on that score; just be inspired and write (or make graphics if you want).

Hope that answers your questions!

Oh, and thanks for the offers of screencaps in your other comment - I won't be asking for you to screencap from a movie/show, as I may not know enough about the fandoms we choose, so I'm really after stills that someone can either link me to or send to me by email so I can choose images that appeal to me as something that will inspire and/or sometimes amuse people. I do appreciate the offer though! ;-)

Ah, AoS is Agents of SHIELD, which may or may not fall under the MCU umbrella (depending on which Marvel bigwig you ask). Yes, that's helpful!

Ah, I was thinking if you have a low-resolution picture and need a higher-res one, I might be able to help.

Ah, sorry, I should have known that since we covered them last time. ;-)

Right, I hadn't thought of that, although the chances of me knowing where in a show it belonged are fairly slim for many of the shows... but you never know when it may happen, so thanks! ;-)
